25.01.2022 Great start to the week bringing awareness to all the abdominal, arm & leg muscles, tendons & ligaments with 3-5 steady breaths in each posture. This is how it ...looked 30x faster than practised because watching a yoga class is like watching paint dry; it looks like nothing is happening because actions are subtle and maintained with steady breaths to build strength. See Noosa Leisure Centre website for details and bookings. See more

25.01.2022 Are you afraid of being stronger? Is it holding you back? Or have you created a situation to hold you back? ... You were born to become ALL you can be. Why not let go of whatever is holding you back? Why not reach for the stars? You are so much stronger than you think you are. Love you Mx side planks practised today for core strength.

24.01.2022 Look at the colour of the water after I soaked these truss tomatoes and an eggplant for 10mins in 11.5pH water from my Kangen Water filter. That's the colour of dirt & chemicals (pesticides and wax) absorbed by 11.5pH water in a few minutes. It stayed the same colour afterwards. You can see the diverter on my kitchen tap shows ION (for ioniser) where it diverts tap water to be filtered, alkalised and ionised to whatever pH level you tap on the filter's digital panel. Water ...can just easily be diverted back to tap water. When it produces 11.5pH from the top spout, 2.5pH is always produced from the bottom spout because the total pH always adds up to 14. We use 2.5ph (hypochlorous acid) as a mouthwash and household cleaner (pictured in bottles beside my filter) because it kills more bacteria than bleach. It feels and smells like chlorinated water and it's not for drinking EVER. 11.5pH is not for drinking either. You start drinking 8.5pH water while your body chemistry adjusts and detoxes for a week, then start drinking 9pH for a week, until your body is ready for the optimal 9.5pH that rapidly rehydrates and detoxes your body at a cellular level. You can learn more about the benefits of drinking Kangen Water here: http://marina1.kangendemo.com

24.01.2022 Did you sleep well last night? How did you feel when you woke up this morning? If you're not waking up feeling refreshed and enthusiastic about the day, a RESTORATIVE YOGA sequence can help you reset. Some people avoid RESTORATIVE YOGA because they feel they need to push themselves to make progress. But most people say they really needed it afterwards. We practise RESTORATIVE YOGA postures in all Noosa Yoga classes this week, from today SUNDAY 9.45 -10.45am. ... It's Week 5 in our 5-week cycle of practising different groups of yoga postures. A Restorative Yoga sequence is made up of fewer postures to allow deep and complete relaxation, in a safe and supportive environment. See www.noosaleisurecentre.com.au for bookings Love you Mx

20.01.2022 This was at the end of our last 2020 yoga class at Noosa Leisure Centre today, with sound therapy using a crystal bowl and singing by Ishtar, a yoga student you can see returning to her mat for a few minutes of relaxations afterwards. Click here to learn more about crystal singing bowls: https://www.shantibowl.com//the-definitive-guide-to-crysta

19.01.2022 This recording is 10x faster from this week's Wednesday class. It's for students wanting to remember and practise the actions that help your legs work better and grow stronger. We continue these actions next week, by practising more standing postures.

18.01.2022 Grace has to be the loveliest word in the English language. It embodies almost every attractive quality we hope to find in others. Grace is a gift of the humble... to the humiliated. Grace acknowledges the ugliness of sin by choosing to see beyond it. Grace accepts a person as someone worthy of kindness despite whatever grime or hard-shell casing keeps him or her separated from the rest of the world. Grace is a gift of tender mercy when it makes the least sense. Expedimage Photography See more

18.01.2022 Sessions start like this... with a brief introduction about the group of postures/asanas to be practised on the day. Then we bring awareness to conscious breathing techniques and all parts of the body in resting positions, before mobilising the whole body with specific asanas. PS. Only those who consented to be included in this video are shown. Thanks to Jackie K

16.01.2022 Practising yoga is a cure for all problems - physical, mental and spiritual. Since the Bronze Age (1500-1100BC) yoga has occupied a special position in society. It was first practiced by selected people but more started to include it in their daily routine, as the benefits of yoga became obvious. Many variations of yoga have evolved. It is neccessary to find one suitable for you because not all yoga styles are for everyone. Not all yoga poses are for everyone. ... This is Ardha Jathara Parivartasana/revolved belly pose. Reduces stiffness in the hips Improves digestion Promotes better circulation through the whole body Helps you to let go of emotional tension Brings balance to your body and mind Brings length and flexibility to the spine Releases tension accumulated in the lower back We practise it at the end of a yoga session, to calm the body and mind. Then we lay still in Savasana/ corpse pose for a few minutes of conscious rest and relaxation. See Noosa Leisure Centre website for bookings.

15.01.2022 You never know what will float to the surface or float away, when you take time to relax deeply with a restorative yoga practice. That's what we are doing all this week. Restorative yoga is a sequence of postures designed to guide your awareness deeper into stillness with support from yoga props, to help you maintain the postures longer. It's the week we consolidate after 4 weeks of building strength and flexibility. Dont miss it!!!

15.01.2022 My life will never be the same after doing Mayurasana/peacock pose in my yoga class at home this morning. It's a classic 2500 yr old yoga posture/antidote f...or diabetes and piles but I did it for fun and to feel the intelligence of my arms and deep belly muscles used to balance here. Your enteric nervous system is also in your belly and when you are receptive to its feedback about your experience, an all-around transformation of perception takes place. You take in and assimilate experiences differently and you respond differently; changing the direction and depth of your personality. You can see that transformation taking place here. Like most other arm balances, Mayurasana appears to require exceptional strength. But what is actually needed is patient, progressive work. I've been working towards this posture for twenty-six years and started with a longterm shoulder injury. I am sharing how i have learned to heal it with arm balancing and abdominal postures all this week at Noosa Leisure Centre. See NLC website for details and bookings

14.01.2022 This is WEEK 1 in our 5-week cycle for practising all groups of Hatha Yoga postures. That means we are practising Surya Namaskar/ sun salute variations and inverted postures, like downward dog, dolphin, peacock, handstand, headstand and shoulderstand. Variations are taught to suit all students. Partnering in my yoga classes this morning, we learned & achieved much more than we could alone. Wealso realised how easy it is to support people working towards the same goals. ... This is the first stage of Pincha Mayurasana/ feathered peacock pose. It is an advanced yoga posture we are working towards doing without support. Hands are kept seperated by a yoga block, so all parts of the hands & arms can push down. Elbows are then placed in line with the shoulders, so shoulder joints become more stable. Energetic action downwards from the shoulders, firearms, wrists and hands is what enables the rest of the body to move upwards. Forearm balancing opens the shoulders for backbends; builds arm strength for handstands and headstands, while bringing an uplifting quality to your spirit. It enables more CONFIDENCE.

13.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who showed up for standing postures and forward bends this morning. SUNDAY's CLASS 22nd November is cancelled due to building renovations. Next Monday 23rd November is the next yoga class

13.01.2022 Inversion therapy is just one of many benefits of using these soft slings for yoga. Any yoga posture with the head below the heart lowers blood pressure and in...creases circulation and oxygen in the brain. Fully supported inversions in these slings allows all muscles to relax & reset, so they dont continue the fight-or-flight pattern triggered by stress. Gabriella Erb guided me into lots of new anti-gravity postures today. They changed my awareness of the body in space & opened my mind and body to new possibilities. Cocooning in the sling at the end is deeply relaxing to integrate benefits of the session. This is just what I needed to prepare for 2021!!!

12.01.2022 You can do yoga anywhere there is a flat surface and free-flowing air. I teach 8 people in my garage at 7am on Tues & Thurs. Here we are practising arm balancing and abdominal postures today. Ive been teaching some of these people for fifteen years. They've all established a regular yoga practice with me. No matter how strong and fit you are, when you start practising yoga, you have to ease into it carefully with my classes for beginners at Noosa Leisure Centre. We aim to pr...actice yoga for the rest of our lives, modifying postures as we grow older. One person here is over 70, the rest are in their 60s, 50s or 40s. Yoga is for every body. Love you Mx

08.01.2022 Its a week since i did a 3-day EPIC water fast with Kangen water and dropped 3kgs. The most profound changes are in the way i think and feel. I am more aware an...d in control of what and when i am eating and drinking. I've stopped rewarding myself with coffee, tea, sweet or salty things. That time is now spent on more beneficial experiences like expressing my thoughts & feelings, connecting with friends & family, reflecting, dreaming and being creative. I have more FREEDOM because I have more time and ability to focus on what i want, without craving coffee, tea, sugary or salty things. Remember it's important to ease back to a normal diet after fasting, by drinking only fluids for half the time spent fasting. I gained 500g per day until my normal weight returned today. But my mind and body are still working so much better than before i did the 3-day waterfast. And i feel much better than i did before fasting. Its not recommended for people with diabetes or eating disorders, or people under 18 but you can get all the information and guidance you need to do a 3-day water fast by yourself here: https://freedomeramembership.com/o/fast/?a=MarinaMX

08.01.2022 The fever clinic at Noosa Leisure Centre looks like a parallel reality from where I taught yoga upstairs at 6.45am today. It's for people wanting a free covid ...test, after travelling to Noosa from hot spots. Hundreds of holiday makers are taking advantage of this service provided by paramedics, ambulance officers & Noosa Council. But mostly local people are queueing to protect others from possible contamination. They come and go thru an entrance at the opposite end of the building and reception area, so yoga students and the fitness timetable are not affected. They even have portable toilets for people attending the clinic. Just give yourself extra time to get a car park here beside Noosa Library.

07.01.2022 It's 20 x faster than we did it this morning and i wonder if you can see the laughter, sweat, singing and intense sensations as well as dancing. You had to be t...here to get the benefits of these arm balancing and abdominal postures but I'll be back at Noosa Leisure Centre on Sunday 9.45am. We will be focusing on twisting and backbending then. I cannot wait. I love teaching yoga

06.01.2022 Every body is different. The yoga path is different for everyone but yoga props make it possible for every body to overcome afflictions in the mind and body. Noosa Leisure Centre today at 7am

05.01.2022 This is for Noosa Yoga students who want to practise this morning's sequence at home with 3-5 ujjayi breaths in each posture

05.01.2022 Check out the correct way to forward bend this week! We will be resting in forward bends after practising standing postures ALL week. Mx

03.01.2022 Remember there is NO class on Monday

02.01.2022 And just when we think there is too much pressure and not enough space to breathe... when we want to stop because it's so uncomfortable and scary not knowing wh...at we are doing or where we are going... that stage where we want to give in and go back to where we were...doing things the way we always do them because it's easier. . This is exactly when we need to fine-tune our focus on what we are doing and where we are going...to slow down enough to watch each breath create space and ease inside the body. . This is the time to check where we are coming from - our purpose - while feeling our foundations on earth like roots... energetically projecting down for stability and rebounding back up for lightness and openness. . Persisting like this can bring relief in the feeling of being fully committed. Then we can discover parts of us being brought back to life. . Breathe slowly and deeply next time you are feeling edgy. It will help you focus on what you are doing and where you are going when you cannot see it. . You could be on the verge of discovering a whole new part of yourself that has been waiting for that moment to wake up. See more

02.01.2022 It's WEEK 3 and we are building upper body strength with arm balancing and abdominal postures. We cultivate a sense of playfulness and curiosity with these postures, rather than striving and pushing. Arm balances require you to relax deeply and release many of joints and muscles. You need suppleness in your groins, hamstrings, hips, knees and torso, just to get into the shape of most of these poses. That's not to say you can forget all about strength. You need build core strength in Plank/ Chaturanga and Boat/ Paripurna poses. Here's a peek at the beginners level class today:
