23.01.2022 Aha ...so we are getting older! What a surprise to find out our bones are becoming brittle - life goes on! For some of us more mindfulness is necessary in how we bear our weight on the Earth. Are we really here with each step? OR lost in the next event ...some place forwards of my body? Have I left my body behind in my daily movement.

08.01.2022 Through a powerful synthesis of Biomedical Science and Ancient wisdom traditions, Biochemist and cellular shaman Dr. Sondra Barrett offers practical strategi...es our cells have for healing and thriving. This new book Secrets of Your Cells, a crossroads between science and the sacred, reveals Life’s operating instructions as above, so below. One of the core themes in the book is the fact that tensions and stresses on our cells’ inner fabric influence their actions and health. What we can conclude from this science about the interior framework of our cells, it is most likely the place where yoga, walking, stretching, dancing, singing, chanting, qigong, can have their beneficial effects. Our cells are endowed with: 1) Wisdom for incorporating balance, fluidity, community, and cooperation into our everyday lives, 2) Integrity our cells teach us about Truth and remembering Gratitude 3) Time-honored energy practices to manage stress 4) Intelligence to regulate the expression of our genes 5) Abilities to listen to our thoughts and initiate healing 6) Shapeshifting behaviors to assist you in Letting Go and aligning align body, mind and spirit UNLOCK THE SECRETS OF YOUR CELLS to know them as the perfect containers for the divine spark of life. Cells are more than nucleus and membrane; receptors and genetic codes; fluid, moist, flexing stringy fabric and tubes. Willing to dig deeper, you will find they hold important lessons about how to live a fuller, healthier life. Open the door to cellular intelligence and ancient wisdom, the magic that dwells within you. Secrets of Your Cells is both a playbook and a guide to the cellular universe. It will encourage you to engage with your cells in practical ways to invigorate your energy, your body and ignite your imagination. Fall in love and enjoy an intimate relationship with your cells. When we love ourselves from the cells on up, we can see how all of life is connected, the same, underneath our skin. And just maybe we’ll learn to appreciate others even more. See more

03.01.2022 The Habit Of 'Busyness' And The Yoga Cure Yoga offers one of the best cures to slowing down our busy lives. Ahimsa meaning non-violence is the very first practice on the yoga journey. This attitude of non-violence starts firstly with Self and how we treat ourselves and then how kind we are towards the world outside of Self. Practically speaking this includes caring for self making time to consider what's important for your well-being - setting boundaries, creating a time for... work, play, rest and space to reflect. Judith Lasater, my teacher says, we have become as busy as we can get in this 21st century and we now equate exhaustion with relaxation and busyness with productivity. If this is your thinking it will be more difficult to slow down and truly relax and care for self. I know I struggle with this and have to remind myself that there isn’t anywhere to get to so I can do a little or a lot and there are no extra rewards they are just different ways of being. I have started breaking the ‘busy’ habit by creating space and not filling it with anything. Try taking a few hours each week when you don’t answer the phone, stay off the computer and don’t arrange anything. Try to remain quiet during this time. Sit with whatever comes up and don't fill your head with projects. Maybe write down how you are feeling to understand the habit more fully. Awareness is the key to releasing habits. Swami Niranjanananda tells the story about one of his encounters with his master to show us how strong the habits of the mind are. He recalls visiting his master one day when he was young and full of many habits. His master said, Niranj go and pull that weed from the garden. Niranj responded by pulling out the small weed with two fingers. Returning he was told to go back and pull out a plant from the garden. Niranj, again, went back and with two hands tugged and pulled out the plant. His master said very good now go and pull down that tree over there. Niranj reluctantly went over and wrapped his arms around the tree and tried to pull it out but of course it wouldn’t budge. His master said, ‘In the beginning if you have a habit and are aware of it you can remove it easily. After some time you have to pull hard to remove a habit. Once the habit takes root you cannot pull out the tree you can even use a chainsaw to cut the tree down but the roots remain.’ Swami Niranj said If we cannot transform the habits of the mind we will not succeed in yoga. If ‘busyness’ is your mind habit then start in small ways to loosen it and you will start to feel the fruits of yoga - more freedom, joy, and happiness in life. Find time to stop for a breather and reflect on how your year is going. Readjust schedules and start with small new beginnings of kindness towards Self. Look forward to seeing you all on the mat Yogic love in abundance
