22.01.2022 Our story about our treasure, 'Syncro' part 2 Once we had sealed the deal we got all exited, this was indeed something special! Next thing to do was to organise a storage and get all the furniture and other design pieces there. This would be the last stop before hitting the ocean - It's a fair distance between Scandinavia & Australia, estimated shipping time is 3months! ...so we packed it as thoroughly as we could and said good bye. Once the shipment had arrived in Australia... only a couple of pieces were damaged, which we were content with. Now the next phase began - unpacking and reloading! ....we know, some people probably think we're going through a bit too much effort, but they don't see how great the Scandinavian design furniture truly are! ...imagine this; A piece of furniture were made about 70years ago, and it still looks the same - now that's quality for you! ...not to mention its distinguished look...a piece of art! 03.01.2022 We at Nordic Style has, as many others, spent more time at home in theae times, so we've submerged ourselves in one of our passions - restoring furniture ...but before we come to that, we'd like to take you on a journey, that for us began in the Norwegian countryside... ....On one of our travels through the Scandinavian summer, in a rented truck - with no aircon and 30d degrees btw... we happened to pass by a summer house with heaps of furniture outside. Not knowing if so...meone was moving or country auction was going on, we quickly slammed the breaks and reversed up to the place. To our amazement a man told us he was selling furniture and we were more than welcome to have a look .... now that was great news for two 'Aussie pickers' passing by. This is where we found the rare design armchair called 'Syncro' ....stay tune for more info and photos of this one amazing piece!
01.01.2022 Syncro part 3 - the retouching I bet that Jan Erik Lindgren had no ide that one of his recliner 'Syncro', an armchair he designed during the 80s for Norwegian 'Vestlandske møbler', was going to travel to Melbourne! While spending more time at home we decided to take it apart and do some retouches. We got more than we bargained for there, where only the assembling took more than 6hours!
