24.01.2022 All finished in Port Fairy, another very happy client!

24.01.2022 We returned to Port Fairy recently to finish off a job started by others. We rendered in this this doorway to be in keeping with the house’s heritage. A small window repair and replacement of a few weatherboards.

21.01.2022 Some progress today, more rot found within frame and ornate fittings. Slowly but surely we are bringing this window back to its former glory, with some necessary updates!

20.01.2022 Another very happy client on one of our window repair jobs last week. We have a finish off this week in Warrnambool before calling our next clients in Illowa and Nulawarre!

14.01.2022 We have taken on a new challenge today at southern Cross. Multiple past repairs have failed and caused serious damage to the structure of this window frame and its sashes!

13.01.2022 I am often asked what is the best or favourite tool in you kit ? At this time of the year I normally answer with my FIEN MultiMaster, but today, without a doubt, It was my indestructible Milwaukee Hackzall / Reciprocating saw. It cut through hidden nails and 10 9mm spikes...... not to mention issues with Sollid plaster. Absolutely brilliant !!

10.01.2022 We took a break from window repairs to return to a rescheduled new window install. The windows were manufactured by Bryce and Chris at Preston Windows & Joinery Pty Ltd -Warrnambool. Fantastic job on the counter balance sashes .

09.01.2022 We turned up today to remove two existing windows that would allow the manufacturer to measure up prior to manufacturing new sashes and frames. Normally a reasonably straightforward job .............. then we found the first one was rendered in with no way to get to the fixing points. We found 10 fixing points that utilised 250x9mm spikes through the sides, header and even the sill !!! All in a days work. On to the next one.... the games afoot .......

06.01.2022 FXD gear is crap, been putting up with it for a while. Today I pulled on a brand new pair of pants, did not even get dust on them before I bent down and this happened!!! I got talked out of hard yakka gear by my supplier.... back to the good gear for me and a change of supplier I guess!
