21.01.2022 It is past time to get a society for Normandes in Australia up and running. We have the opportunity to get our animals genomically tested, which will allow us to structure our breeding programs to ensure we build the Norm breed the way we know will suit Australian conditions, but we need a society to do this. A few of us will be starting the ball rolling in February and we welcome any input from interested parties. If you would like some input as to what you would like your society to provide, send us a message.

21.01.2022 This is Loki (A2A2, B/B). No tricks here, he is a very tidy Norm sire. Great udder balance figure at a 0.7. His cow fertility figures have just risen , while maintaining heifer fertility giving a very healthy fertility rating. He scores very well on clinical mastitis, so you should expect fewer incidents of mastitis out of this sires progeny. Good calving ease at 93 and maternal calving ease at 92. He has a moderate stature, but muscles down well with great feet and legs. Milk sits at 623, nice; and protein at +1.1% and +29 kilos. There are very few holes in this bulls figures. We are currently urgently gathering orders to get a shipment in before spring, so message me if youre interested. FR

09.01.2022 Here are a few new pictures from Colombia, where it can be chilly high in the Andes but quite warmer than what it is now in the Midwest. Colombia is the second ...home of the Normande after France. It has the second largest herd of Normandes in the world. The first Normandes came to Colombia late 19th century and have become one of the most important dairy and dual-purpose breed in the country. Its especially appreciated high in the Andes, where its the only breed that can stand such high altitude. The cheese qualities of the milk have become another important asset. A vibrant association helps the promotion of the breed nationwide. See more

06.01.2022 This is Landels dam. She shows where Landel gets his udder structure figures from, scoring extremely well for fore udder, udder balance, udder depth, rear udder height with good teat orientation and front teat placement. Reiterating, Landel is tested A2A2, AB. He has extremely high milk production (+1098kg) which transfers into excellent kilos of protein (+31kg). He scores 93 for calving ease and daughter calving ease and has good cow fertility. Good feet and legs, good temperament, moderate frame.

05.01.2022 The Normande Holstein cross makes all sorts of economic sense. The Norms have high milk solid %, high fertility, high % of A2A2 and they do not compromise on size. Eliminate the problematic, small-framed Jersey Holstein cross, by using Normande.
