24.01.2022 Finishing touches applied to my Spanish Marine Grenaderos. Quite an intimidating bunch of gringos!

23.01.2022 Spent an enjoyable morning painting up this 3D printed Italian tank which was pressed into German service after Italy capitulated. It’s for my mid war Gebirgsjäger Bolt Action army

23.01.2022 Revisiting some German Kriegsmarine I painted a few years ago, and giving them some extra highlights and little details.

23.01.2022 So this happened... Warlord accidentally included a box of Papuans with my last order, so now I’ve accidentally started an Australian army... The first of my Rag Tag Raiders, based on the little known Commando forces carried by a little known fleet of Australian trawlers working the shallow waters and outlying Islands of Papuan New Guinea during the Japanese occupation.

22.01.2022 A super fun unit to paint and a great opportunity to practice SS Spring Plane Tree camo pattern. Not sure how useful a Goliath will be in a game though!

19.01.2022 Another good painting challenge. Added some late was SS mountain troops to my early war Gebirgsjäger army. A good way to easily update an army by adding a couple of squads and some extra men with assault rifles and panzerfausts. It is about keeping the same colour pallet and basing to tie it all together.

15.01.2022 Been off the brushes for a little while due to problem with the sight in one of my eyes, which has now been corrected with a recent cataract operation First effort is this Matilda II that will strengthen my fledgling Papuan Rag Tag Army.

08.01.2022 Today I reacquainted myself with a project I completed a few years ago. It was a 1/72 aircraft I entered into into a scale modelling competition (and came second if I remember correctly). Recently I retrieved it from storage and based it as marker for Bolt Action. It was too good to languish in the shed!

05.01.2022 Back on the brushes again after a super busy period at work and finished off a Pacific commission. These guys were so much fun to paint and so iconic, it makes me want to start an Australian army!

04.01.2022 Character filled bases are a vital component of any painting project and can really tie an army and an historical theme together. I always spend time on the bases first so I can get the look right from the very beginning. Only then do I get onto the main brushwork after that. At the request of one of my members, here is my first painting guide explaining how I do the baes for my Gebirgsjäger army. If it’s helpful, I’ll also do a guide to desert bases and also my jungle base look.

03.01.2022 Rebased and tidied up my son’s 25 pounder.

02.01.2022 Been off the tools lately due to a hectic work and travel schedule, but managed to finish off a terrain commission recently - a couple of Normandy themed churches for some clients. Whilst not featuring a lot in this page, I have a real passion for creating good looking and cost effective terrain for our boards. Reach out if I can help you with any of your terrain needs.
