20.01.2022 What a day today small bathroom removal out at Ipswich then back to nth side for notice delivery whilst out and about recieved a call from a bathroom renovator to come and make safe a house that another person has done leaving ACM in buckets in the back yard and half finished job in the bathroom on inspection has been noted the ACM was cut by grinder right around wall , dust everywhere which has now made the customer exposed to asbestos at high levels we have notified W...HS they are going to begin an investigation so please if you do a bathroom renovation please check for asbestos and make sure they are lic and qualified for the work to be carried out.( not bathroom reno licenced) Had no idea it was asbestos , or didn't care, an ACM sticker found on debris left in back yard. This poor lady 77 year old mind you and her son are in what I would say a holding pattern here are some pics of what we found on arrival we would have cleaned up the back yard and remove but can not do this until WHS have visited the premises and taken there photos See more

15.01.2022 Well welcome to this weekend completed partially removal of acm walls and ceilings to a house before renovations start

14.01.2022 Fairly big day today removal of bathroom toilet and part hallway bringing up concrete was hardest as it was done like a concrete footpath

12.01.2022 Bathroom Reno today, assessed by client non asbestos, was all good but we had a suspect area in ceiling and one wall took cornice of and found out they had just covered the ACM with new sheets(a common practice, to sell and offload properties) , this is why you should get it tested and checked, hidden danger and the customer ended up with extra expense for the removal of ACM .

12.01.2022 This is when you know the bathroom renovator passes on the crappie work he does not want to remove lucky was just removal of fixtures and fittings and floor

10.01.2022 A bathroom acm removal and 92mm holes we did today and also we noticed gyprock was placed over the acm i dont recommend doing this as if an electrician had come to place downlights in the roof he would have contaminated the area put his health at risk and the customers at risk as well always double check before drilling we have the right equipment to drill holes as it hooks up to our HEPA vacuum and seal the edges

10.01.2022 Another ACM removal completed today and ready for the owner to start replacing the walls we removed as some ACM was left due to owner not wanting to remove all

09.01.2022 A little bathroom removal we did this morning after builder found asbestos had been replaced in a few places with new sheets in the shower area just goes to show any renos need to be checked for asbestos lucky this bathroom renovator knew exactly what to do stop immediately seal and call in a professional removalist and not keep going and in danger the occupants

09.01.2022 A customer asked me how much it cost to do this job.... I answered him: $ 1500 He said: So expensive for this job? I asked: How much do you think it would cost you? He answers me: $ 800 maximum... That's a pretty simple job right? !"... - For $ 800 I invite you to do it yourself. - But.... I don't know how to. - For $800 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $700, you'll get the knowledge for the next time you want - It seemed right to him and he agreed. - But to get started: you need tools: A welder, grinder, chop saw, drill press, welding hood, gloves etc... - But I don't have all these equipment and I can't buy all of these for one job. - Well then for another $300 more I'll rent my stuff to you so you can do it. - Okay, he says. - Okay! Tuesday I'm waiting for you to start doing this work - But I can't on Tuesday I only have time today. - I'm sorry, but I'm only available Tuesday to teach you and lend you my stuff. Other days are busy with other customers. - Okay! That means I'm going to have to sacrifice my Tuesday, give up my tasks. - I forgot. To do your job yourself, you also have to pay for the nonproductive factors. - That is? What is this?" - Bureaucratic, tax, vat, security, insurance, fuel etc. - Oh no!... But to accomplish these tasks, I'm going to spend more money and waste a lot of time! - Do you have them? You can do it to me before?" - Okay! - I'll make you all the material you need. Truck loading is done Monday evening or Tuesday morning you'll have to come by 6 loading the truck. Don't forget to be on time to avoid traffic jams and be on time - At 6??? Nope! Too early for me! I used to getting up later. ... - You know, I've been thinking. Y ' all better get the job done. I'd rather pay you the $1500. If I had to, it wouldn't be perfect and it would cost me a lot more. When you pay for a job, especially handcrafted, you pay not only for the material used, but also: - Knowledge - Experience - Study - Tools - Services - Time to go - punctuality - Accountability - Professionalism - Accuracy - Guaranteed - Patents - Sacrifices - Safety and security - Payment of tax obligations No one can denigrate other people's work by judging prices. Only by knowing all the elements necessary for the production of a certain work can you estimate the actual cost. I did not write this dialogue, but am sharing it to support craftsmen and entrepreneurs.
