19.01.2022 The Sunshine Coast Design Book was recently published by the Sunshine Coast Council to serve as a guide for good design on the Sunshine Coast and hinterland. We are honoured to have our work featured in the book with the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve Discovery Centre explored as a case study. It is a really handy reference for not only designers but the w...hole community, particularly anyone considering a building or landscaping project. Below are the main design principles outlined in the book. "The values The following four characteristics are what the community values most about the Sunshine Coast. These values are at the heart of what makes the Sunshine Coast special. - We love our climate - We live within and cherish our landscape - We treasure our ocean, beaches and waterways - We are a community of communities Design principles The following 10 design principles are based on what our community values about the Sunshine Coast. The principles do not push a certain architectural or landscape style. They aim to express the four values and provide ideas for working with them.
