25.01.2022 To Our Dearest Clients, I'm sure all of you have heard the news that most Industries considered non-essential have been told to shut. Hairdressing has managed to keep their doors open for now but with a restriction of 30 minutes per appointment and per person. This time allowance is quite clearly impossible for us to offer the service's that we pride ourselves on and because of this we will be temporarily closing our doors. As soon as we are able to re-open our business we will do so and we will continue to keep you updated on Facebook. We all here at Normans Hair & Makeup hope that you are following the necessary precautions to protect yourselves and others from Covid-19. Our hours will remain the same as we maneuver this uncharted territory as beautiful hair is truly a priority for us, we are all taking the necessary precautions so that we can minimize the impact of any virus. 23.01.2022 Thank God for 25 minute colour & 5 minute haircuts!

23.01.2022 The council car-park has re-opened with quite a few improvements. Casuals can park on the lower levels now instead of searching at the top for a space although the brand new elevator is worth looking at and was long overdue. Security is a high priority with more cameras and emergency stations on every floor. Unfortunately the free pass on Saturday is gone as is the $1ph pricetag, its now $1.40ph every day but I guess the extra security comes at a cost. All in all this helps solve the parking debacle that is Lake Street and now shoppers dont have to be concerned about a 1 hour time-limit.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone, as most of you already know we have relocated to a new salon. We are also going through a total rebrand as we are now known as ICONIQ. If you are still unaware we have relocated to 172-174 Mulgrave Rd (The Dixon Homes Building). We look forward to seeing all your lovely faces at our new location.

10.01.2022 Some of you are already aware the multi level carpark behind the library on Lake Street is closed for renovation. It looks like this will be a 6 month project so weve listed a few alternatives when visiting the Lake Street area. Parking on the street is still 1 hour at the curb ($1.20) and 2 hours in the center (free). I believe the most convenient is directly behind the bus terminal on Lake with the entrance on Grafton. As a cardholder from the Lake Street park I get to p...ark at Cairns Central for a month, Im thinking of buying an electric scooter to ride to work after that...Any thoughts? Let us know if you have some hot tips for parking around the Lake Street area or if theres a different solution not shown here.

08.01.2022 In case you missed it, the government has done a backflip on hairdressing 30 minute appointments and lifted the restrictions although we will be observing the 4 metre rule. Also, if we hug in the salon, we wont make eye contact. We will be contacting all those who had/have appointments to reschedule, thank you all for your patience while we all go through what must be for almost all of us, a first time experience.

04.01.2022 Norman came to my rescue when I thought all hope was lost for my hair extensions. After visiting Cairns and going on a dive trip my extensions ended up as one ...horrendous dreadlock, even though theyd been in a plait. Thank goodness I was put in touch with Norman who went above and beyond to bring my hair back from the brink. I cannot recommend Norman enough: a master craftsman, magician and all round awesome man. Having spent several hours with him (and I should add this was an out of hours rescue mission) it is clear he is incredibly passionate about what he does. He saw the mission through to the end, taking meticulous care to save as much of my hair as possible. I went from thinking Id have a couple of centimetres of hair left (after hair way below my shoulders) to keeping pretty much all of it. I am 100% sure any other hairdresser would have taken one look and said "cut it off". Norman was determined to win and Im so grateful. The photos will never truly represent what a solid mess it was. Norman, you are a legend and Im eternally grateful.
