24.01.2022 The communities we have worked in for many years have been dealt a further blow by mother nature and need our help. In partnership with our amazing friends at KTF we have mobised to help them.........

24.01.2022 There is a shortage of PPE including facemasks world wide. There is no doubt that medical quality masks are preferable but in lieu of these, cloth masks made to the standard set by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are a viable alternative to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Many of you will know Mary Temu who has been a great supporter of The Foundations for many years, ...facilitating transport for us to the Norther Beaches and Kokoda, working tirelessly to process the paperwork for children to come to Australia for life changing surgery and connecting us with community leaders in PNG. This week Mary takes on a huge challenge!! To work with women in a local church group to produce 10,000 cloth masks in 3 months. Our NGO partners at KTF, ADRA & ADI as well as the Oro Province Provincial Health Authority have all been great partners in No Roads Foundations latest project. See more

23.01.2022 Hi everyone, The No Roads Foundation is taking advice from the experts in the field and working with our partners in Australia and overseas to plan our actions to the consequences of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This health risk has the potential to evolve quickly and affect everyone on different levels both in Australia and in the remote communities in which we work. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our teams and these communities.... The Foundation Board is talking regularly and is lucky enough to have a cross section of health professionals who are providing us with intelligence however the situation is constantly evolving with travel bans and government policy continually informing the decisions that we will need to make. In the next week, the board will be making decisions regarding all the programs and expeditions and working with each and everyone of our team members to understand the consequences of changes to our 2020 program. This is an evolving situation and we are committed to providing regular updates to you as information comes to hand. Stewart Kreltszheim Chair No Roads Foundation (Aust) Pty Ltd

22.01.2022 Over 3,950 Face Masks After several months, the face mask project in Popondetta PNG has been successfully completed, with over 3,950 face masks being produced. These masks have been distributed to children, so they can return to school and continue their education, and to health care workers so they can practice their work in a safe environment. We thank everyone who has generously supported this vital project.

22.01.2022 Facemasks produced by the No Roads Foundation delivered to KTFs Kokoda College to enable students to continue to study. Thanks to the KTF team for being such great partners and friends. There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work toward the same goals. - Idowu Koyenikan

21.01.2022 Just dug this up from the archives and wanted to share

21.01.2022 As you can see, getting to Golo is quite a task. However all the cement and piping has arrived today for the well which is great news. This project is really moving along especially with the incredible enthusiasm the local people have shown so they can get fresh water into their village. For more information about this project go to http://noroadsfoundation.com/golo-water-project-indonesia

15.01.2022 "I cannot do all the good that the world needs, but the world needs all the good that I can do" ~Jana Standfield Chin State Myanmar has been doing it tough with food shortages due to unseasonal weather, and the COVID 19 Pandemic necessitating lock downs in the remote villages. NREF have provided financial support to these amazing people through the No Roads Chin Humanitarian Foundation who are actively distributing Rice, Vitamins, Panadol and Soap.... Our Village Health Volunteers are educating the villagers re best hygiene practices and supporting the isolated elderly groups. To our generous benefactors in Australia and our amazing local team (NRCHF) thank you so much.

14.01.2022 Thanks to our great friends and partners KTF the No Roads Foundations earthquake relief efforts are in full swing with water tanks installed in affected villages and containers delivered to every household to enable them to have access to fresh water for drinking and sanitation. With cases of C19 escalating in PNG we can only hope that the remoteness of these communities act in their favour.

13.01.2022 To all those amazing nurses and midwives who have shared the No Roads Foundation journey and who are working on the front line today - Thank You - I am constantly in awe of the work you do and the way you do it.

12.01.2022 The Vovo Community are well underway milling the timber required to repair their elementary school floor and build a house for the teacher. This chainsaw was purchased with donated by the Muddle Family in partnership with the No Roads Foundation and should be finished by May. 12.01.2022 Sister Borna is a nurse/midwife at the Tufi Health Centre in remote PNG. She along with Bevan, Alfie, James, Stanley and Harold have worked tirelessly with The No Roads Foundation training a network of village health volunteers and encouraging women to give birth in the presence of a trained health professional. Priscilla is the young daughter of Frank who was the local policemen and passed away from cancer last year. Those of you who have been to Tufi will remember her as one of the singers who entertained us on our last night. Priscilla went into labour with twins and sadly, due to complications during the birth, she lost one of the babies however Sister Borna and team were able to stabilise the mother and she along with a baby boy are safe and well.

12.01.2022 Leave No Woman Behind! Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and an opportunity to raise awareness about violence against women, which is one of the most disturbing human rights violations in our world today. Mostly unreported due to the shame surrounding it, it reveals itself in physical, sexual and psychological forms, including intimate partner violence, sexual violence and harassment, human trafficking, female genital mutilation and child marriage. We support the elimination of violence against women and call that no woman be left behind!

We have been keeping in touch with the remote communities in which we have been working with over the years and this week I talked to Cyril who is a teacher from Vovo in the Tufi District. Our chainsaw milling team led by Ramsey Kumi moved into this community earlier this year and have now milled all the timber required to repair the floor to the school and build a house for the teacher. Cyril will send me some pics of his new home once he and his family put the finishing touches on it but he is super happy that he now has a decent roof over his head and a place where him and his family will call their home for many years to come.

02.01.2022 Sogeri Face Mask Project. We are pleased to be working with the Australian High Commission Papua New Guinea through the Kokoda Initiative on a face mask project in Papua New Guinea. Together we will create a micro-industry for five seamstresses from the Central province to produce over 3,750 face masks through a project which will run over three months.... Edna, a seamstress for the project, reflected this project has helped me earn income to help my family. I have three kids and it’s difficult to provide school fee, lunch and bus fare daily with COVID-19 affecting schools and job employment. I’m glad whatever that is earned will keep the family going till my husband is employed or track season starts again next year. Follow the progress of this project over the coming months.

01.01.2022 Today, the diesel engine for the Golo Water project Indonesia was delivered to the Kepala Desa (Head of the Village) Pak Nikolaus Ganus.
