24.01.2022 Glettingastafur In a manuscript dated to the early 1800s but copied from an earlier manuscript "this stave protects against attacks brought upon you" with instructions to carve it on a rising (waxing) moon. Labelled on a later copy as "Glettingastafur", meaning "bantering" or "harassment" stave. My own translation, remaster and effects.... #galdrastafir #magic #glettingastafir

01.01.2022 Josua Insigli / The Seal of Joshua The stave appears in the Huld manuscript and another a few years later with slightly changed wording around the edges. The letters are written using a mix of Modern Icelandic runes and standard Latin characters. I hypothesize these together are a misunderstanding of the Latin phrase "Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum" (I.N.R.I. Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews) and the Hebrew "Shalom" (Peace, be with you).
