20.01.2022 First competition for the year, are you ready?

20.01.2022 It was a hot and steamy day at the range for the first qualifying competition for the Club Championship. We had a great turn out with 28 shooters for the afternoon. Conditions appeared to be quiet with the wind coming from the right, but as per usual, nothing is as it appears at North Arm. The first stage saw everyone struggle with the conditions, as it crossed over zero a number of times, and mirage, not showing it's try self. The best of the TR shooters was 2 points down, w...ith a number of F Class shooters 3 points down. In the second stage there was only one possible on the range, and this was from Colin C with a 55.8 to take out Div 1 (TRA) for the afternoon, with a total score of 103.13. The rest of the TR shooters struggled to even hit the ton. Div 2 (TRB) saw a close match between David R and Shane J, with David 1 point in front after the first stage. Shane shot well in the second stage with a 50.3 over David's 49.3 to take out the day by 1 V Bull over David, with a score of 95.4. Div 3 (FStd) had 7 shooters for the afternoon, Des V lead the after the first stage with a 57.5, and kept the pressure on in the second stage with a 65.5, which took out the day by 3 points. Tim P shot well in the second stage with a 64.4 with third place taken out by Grant L on count back from Peter B. Dave B continued his form of late last year with a 122.7 after starting with a 57.5 taking out Div 4 (FO). Peter C took out second place with 121.9 with Denis Mc in third place. FTR looks like it is going to be competitive this year with some close scores at the end of the day. Brian L had a good lead after the first range with a 57.3 over Rob G on 56.0, but Rob pulled it together on the second stage with a 64.6 taking out the afternoon with a 120.6 with Brian in second place on 118.6 and Ian S in third place on 118.3. http://www.northarmrifleclub.com.au/6-2-21-300m-club.../I

15.01.2022 Well we have finally come to the end of 2020, a year that most of us would probably hoped had gone a little better than it did. We had our Christmas shoot recently and then awarded our winners for 2020 shooting year. Congratulations to all. ... Shooting commences on 9 January with practice for the first couple of weeks.

14.01.2022 We have 7 shooters attending Muckadilla this weekend. Looks like conditions will be challenging as usual for this range.

13.01.2022 Appreciation post to Media 411 for the wonderful collection of photos from the 49th National Rifle Championships. Check out the gallery of photos from Day 3 of The Queen's Prize match.

13.01.2022 31/10/20 - 600 yards Club Competition We started early to try and beat the storms that were forecast for the afternoon and that hit just as everyone was heading home. The conditions were difficult to say the least. With strong winds from left to right, anywhere from 1 1/2 minutes to 5 to 6 minutes. ... There were two shooters that faired better than most in the first round with Scott Myall Div 3 (FStd) scoring a 59.2 and Dave Boreham Div 4 (FO) with a 58.3. Dave ended the day with the top score over all with a 62.5 the second round for a 120.8, which was a great result considering the conditions. Other Div 4 (FO) results: Andrew Burns 55.4, 62.5 - 117.9 Denis McNamara 54.0 , 63.3 - 117.3 Peter Coats 51.2, 62.5 - 113.7 Scott Myall finished with his first win, with a 56.1 the second stage with a total of 115.3 in Div 3 (FStd) Corrie Hoosen 54.1, 57.0 - 111.1 Tim Pilcher 54.1 , 56.0 - 110.1 Peter Birch 51.3 , 57.1 - 108.4 Bob Bull 53.4, 54.1 - 107.5 Frank Lewins 51.0 , 54.1 - 105.1 Grant Larsen 47.0, 54.4 - 101.4 Div 5(FTR) saw another new shooter, take out his first win, with Rob Griffith scoring a 54.1 and 52.0 for 106.1 Mark Cooper 51.2, 54.2 - 105.4 Ian Skipworth 51.0, 53.2 - 104.2 Greg Hansen 46.1, 56.3 - 102.4 Sarah Cooper 46.0, 54.0 - 100.0 Fred Blok 43.1. 53.0 - 99.1 Gerard Hayes 42.0, 51.1 - 93.1 Div 1 (TRA) only had 2 shooters for the day with Scott Robson shooting a 42.2 the first round, only just beating Michelle Fletcher who go a 41.1, both faired better in the second stage with Scott with a 53.3 and Michelle a 53.4. Scott narrowly beating Michelle with a 95.5 for the day. Dave Richardson Div 2 (TRBC) was the only shooter in Div 2 and scored a 37.0 the first round and 45.2 for a 82.2 for the day. He has a new rifle being made, and thinks the old one is having a bit of a tizzy on being retired. Next week is 700 yard practice starting at 12:30, those that have nominated with Scott for the Goondiwindi Postal shoot will have to be ready to shoot at 9:00am Saturday morning.

12.01.2022 Bundaberg - Burnett held their 2 day shoot over the weekend. North Arm had a great representation at the event with 5 of our members attending. Congratulations to all the winners over the weekend. Our members results:... Des V (Fstd) Des won 3 of the 4 ranges on Day 1 and Day 1 agg with a 235.17 Day 2 saw him take out both ranges and the Daily Agg, 177.17, and the Grand Agg for both days with a 412.34. FTR we had 3 of the club competing with Rob G, Glenn L and Brian L. Rob G won 500 on Day 1 and 2 at 600 on day 1 with a 3rd in the daily Agg. Day 2 he won 800 and was 3rd in the daily Agg and was 2nd only one point behind the winner with a 399.23. Both Glenn and Brian shot consistently over the weekend, I am sure they both learnt lots, especially at the long ranges on day 2, being the first time both of them had shot at Bundaberg. David R shot TRB and won the 1st 600 on day 1 with a nice 49.05 and second at the 2nd 500 and 2nd 600. Day 2 saw David win 800 with a 74.09 and 2nd at 900 and 2nd in the Daily Agg and 2nd in the Grand Agg with a 334.29.

12.01.2022 Well its that time of year when Davison Range gives us its best and lives up to its name. Most of the competitors found conditions difficult to read. With conditions anything from 3 minutes left to 1 to 2 mins right, changing fast. Only one person was successful in gaining a possible, but only in one string and that was Colin Cole with a beautiful 55.9. The rest of us were just left scratching our heads trying to work out what the flags and mirage were doing (normally differe...nt directions at the same time). So it is safe to say that Colin took out Div 1 with a 104.11 for the day with Scott Robson second on 100.5 and Des Vogt on 99.8. David Richardson was the only Div 2 (TR) shooter and scored a nice 98.6. There was a close match in Div 4 (FO) with Jim Dunsmore returning to FO from FTR and scoring a nice 65.5 on the second stage, finishing with a 121.5 for the day. Though not quite taking out first place, as Denis McNamara had a 121.7 for the day. Peter Birch in Div 3 (F Std) had a nice two point lead after the first range with a 58.2 and Corrie and Tim both with 56's. He was able to keep the lead on the second range with a 60.3, though Corrie had a similar result as well with a 60.4, but that left Peter in front by 2 points with a 118.5 for the day. Div 5 (FTR) saw Sarah Cooper take out the day with a 110.5 over Patrick O'Berem with a 108.4. Carol Richardson looks like she might be getting the hang of her new rifle and scope, with a 59.1 in the second stage. A reminder to everyone that the next club competition is Saturday 31 October at 600 yards. The rest of the days results. https://www.northarmrifleclub.com.au/results-club-competit/

09.01.2022 Day 2 results, congratulations to Karen in winning TRB, Colin on his second in TRA and Des's win in FSTDA. What a great weekend.

07.01.2022 Day 2 saw some wind around the range, causing a few problems to some. A great day nonetheless, with some great results. Photos courtes of Media 411

06.01.2022 Results 700 yards 14/11/20 It was a hot day, for shooting, with everyone happy that we were shooting the last competition day for the year at 700 yards, right next to the Clubhouse. Conditions were difficult once again at North Arm with a North Westerly down the range at anywhere from 16 km/hr to about 6km/hr. Denis McNamara (Div 4 FO) as usual mastered the day, with an impressive 57.5 the first range, with his closest rival with a 54. He showed he had it all under control in... the second stage, after a bit of a false start with his sighters, and shot a fantastic 63.3 for 120.8 for the day. Peter Coats shot well in the second stage as well with a nice 61.6 to finish in second place in Div 4 (FO) with a 115.10. (nice centre count Pete) First for Div 1 (TRA) was Michelle Fletcher, starting off with a 46.4 in the first stage, and coming home strong with them all in until the last shot, to finish with a 54.2, and just cracking the ton for the day. She got of the mound and let Scott Robson know that she had left the door open for him to beat her, he just had to get a 55.4 to take out the day. He didn't quite make it with a 53.5 in the second stage. Div 3 (FStd) saw a surprise winner for the afternoon with Bob Bull top scoring, it has been awhile since we have seen Bob at the top. He had a great shoot in the second stage with a 63.2 to give him 112.3 for the afternoon. Coorie Hoosen came in second for the afternoon with a 108.1. Ian Skipworth was the winner of Div 5 (FTR) with a 112.4 for the day taking out his second range win for the year. Sarah Cooper came in second with her 5.56 struggling in the changing conditions on the first stage, she finished with a 61.2 and 112.2 just behind Ian, though this is her top score at 700 for the year. Results for all shooters can be found on the below link. https://www.northarmrifleclub.com.au/results-club-competit/
