24.01.2022 North has been awarded the Clarence Town Sports Facility project for Dungog Shire Council! This is another great win for our Specialist Projects team who will be on site early January 2021 to start works. 24.01.2022 North received wonderful recognition this week at The University of Newcastle, Australia 2020 Employability Excellence Awards where students, staff and partner organisations that support the University’s reputation for producing life-ready graduates were showcased. Not only was North inducted into the Work Integrated Learning Hall of Fame after more than a decade of partnership with the University providing their students with comprehensive real-world industry experience, bu...t also, our very own Emily Spurway was named Intern/Cadet of the Year! Emily joined us through our 12-week cadetship program three years ago and hasn’t looked back, now a full-time employee working on some of our most iconic projects. 22.01.2022 We’re beyond excited to announce being awarded the contract to build The Glen for Women rehabilitation centre at Wyong Creek, designed by SDA Space Design Architecture. North has a long-standing, treasured relationship with The Glen Rehab and we’re proud for it to continue with the delivery of this important project. We embrace such positive steps to provide this kind of support to women and to reduce the stigma around drug and alcohol addiction and mental health. Our team is... approaching the delivery of this project a bit differently, seeing a unique opportunity here for role-modelling training and promoting female participation and indigenous participation in construction. 17.01.2022 We are excited to be contracted to deliver new facilities at Brooke Avenue Public School in support of their growing student community! Work will start in early 2021 and includes the construction of a new permanent building that will contain four innovative and flexible learning spaces, two withdrawal rooms, a practical activity area and a new sports court. This will be the 11th school upgrade delivered by North with School Infrastructure NSW as part of the NSW Government’s $7 billion program to deliver new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. 16.01.2022 North is thrilled to announce recently being awarded a contract for upgrades to John Hunter Hospital. Our Specialist Projects team will be completing three stages of work within the live hospital environment. Designed by dwp | design worldwide partnership, stage 1 and 2 office refurbishments will start right away with stage 3 following on from that and including the demolition and reconfiguration of a section of the radiation therapy department to make way for a new PET scann...er. As well as new walls and finishes, major works in stage 3 also include structural steel slab strengthening, core filled block walls for radiation shielding, and services upgrades in preparation for the PET scanner installation. This comes after being engaged as the early contractor involvement (ECI) partner working alongside the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst and TSA Management to progress the development over the past 14 months. The new secondary campus is set to span nine hectares and includes a chapel; sporting capacities; multipurpose ...hall; state-of-the-art music and drama facilities; purpose-built spaces for vocational education and training; and dedicated hospitality rooms with café facilities. Designed by Alleanza Architecture, the new spaces provide a flexible and unique learning environment with an opportunity to expand current subjects such as primary industries, agriculture and construction. In celebration of NAIDOC week, North site staff have been given new Hi-Vis shirts featuring Aboriginal patterns designed by Luke Penrith and Allira Moore. 06.01.2022 North is excited to announce our first project in Orange for the Orange City Council! We will be erecting a 62 m long x 23 m wide awning structure to the Orange Airport Terminal, adding 1,400 sqm of undercover space. The structure will be integrated perfectly with the existing building and sit at a minimum height of nine metres, accommodating touring coaches and standard buses comfortably whilst providing better weather protection for passengers and enhancing the overall aesthetics of the airport. 05.01.2022 North is excited to announce that we’ve been in an early contractor involvement (ECI) partnership with ET Australia, working with SHAC Architects and AArqm Pty Ltd, to plan and ultimately deliver ET Australia's new secondary college in Gosford. The campus will span across two locations with years 710 being housed in the Imperial Shopping Centre where we will be converting an old retail tenancy into a state-of-the-art learning space. Years 1112 will be housed in the ET Austr...alia building at Donnison Street and undergo a major refurbishment including a new lift installation. Construction began earlier this month and will be completed in time for the 2021 school year. 01.01.2022 North welcomes our newest cadets, Kiarnee and Jackson, who join the team this week as part of our 12-week cadetship program! The program has been in its current format for 10 years and we are pleased to have provided work integrated learning opportunities to 57 students, with a further 31 graduates and students gaining permanent full-time employment with us. We see our cadet program as a key driver in growing and developing our future contracts administrators, project manage...rs and estimators.
