Hopefully in the future we will see some subsidy for everyone else living with type 1 https://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/media-releases/15707

12.01.2022 hi everyone- just a little up date with this whole COVID-19 situation. A few people tell me they are having trouble getting pump supplies. I have spoken to both Medtronic and AMSL and there is stock in the country but the warehouses that supply the chemists have been emptied! They should be getting stock this week and have been told to order extra given the current situation. Please let me know if you need anything- I have a few bits and pieces at work. Also, The messsge i...s wash your hands regularly cough into your elbow don’t touch your face! Keeping in range BGLs will help your immune system Review your sick day plan. Have sugary drinks on hand in case you need them and don’t panic! See more

09.01.2022 This message from Cheryl Steele (CDE) Dear all, it has been bought to my attention that the Covidsafe app can cause pairing issues with CGM if downloaded on the same phone. I have been in contact with the department and the issue has been esculated to the developers. In the meantime the advice is to delete the Covidsafe app if you are experiencing issues with your CGM connection Just for your information x

08.01.2022 It’s important people with diabetes can access the latest, accurate information on the COVID-19 outbreak. We’ve updated our advice on COVID-19 for people living... with diabetes on our website: https://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/news/15720 We understand some people may be feeling anxious or uncertain. We wanted to remind everyone not to panic, to remain calm and follow advice from healthcare professionals and government officials. Now is the time to practice self care, be kind to yourself and to others (and practice impeccable hygiene!). If you need a bit of extra support, or you are struggling with your diabetes management during this time, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Helpline on 1800 637 700. If you have questions about coronavirus please call the Australian Government’s Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080. The helpline operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
