25.01.2022 Our first three patients to take advantage of desexing month: Leah, Hank and Olive!

25.01.2022 A big thank you to all of our amazing Vet Nurses! They definitely deserve a day in their honour with all the hard work and care they put in!

21.01.2022 Hi everybody, this handsome fellow has been turned into us after flying into someone’s house here in Hamlyn Heights: We are sure someone is missing him!

16.01.2022 **CONTENT WARNING: SURGICAL IMAGES** Meet Ronald! This handsome ginger lad was very unwell a couple weeks ago. We took him to surgery and discovered that a blood clot had devitalised a large portion of his intestine. We had to remove the affected segment and 're-plumb' his gastrointestinal tract back together. ... He is currently making a good recovery at home with his furparents and feline sibling Luna. Keep up the good work Ron!

15.01.2022 If you’ve ever had a pet with an ear infection, you may wonder why we always do a swab before commencing treatment. Many ear infections are fungal or bacterial, but occasionally you find these little beauties: ear mites! Getting rid of these parasites requires more than just antimicrobials. Just watching them wiggle is enough to make your skin crawl... imagine having an ear full of them!

14.01.2022 A very common question we hear is Can my dog eat bones? We feel that while there are some benefits from bones in helping keep the teeth clean, the risk of tooth fracture outweighs these benefits. This is Boss, a two year old Border Collie. A quick look and the tooth does not look that bad, but upon closer inspection it was noted it had fractured at the gum line! Dental X-Rays showed all three roots still present. Leaving these roots in can lead to a tooth root abscess. All three roots were removed and the gums stitched closed. Dental chews can provide greater health benefits to teeth with none of the risk of tooth fracture.

13.01.2022 NEW COVID 19 UPDATE Unfortunately we are going to have to re-introduce some COVID-19 guidelines due to the current outbreak in Victoria. The purpose of this post is to reassure you that we are still open for business and have multiple contingency plans to deal with the rapidly evolving situation. As a family owned business, it is paramount that we are able to stay open both to help with your pets and to keep our staff employed. ... Thus, we will be taking further measures to try and control the spread of COVID-19 within both of our clinics. Starting Thursday (July 9th) we will once again implement the following: 1. Our clinics will once again split into two completely separate teams in the hope that we can maintain services in the face of a staff member becoming infected with COVID 19. Drs Bryan & Chloe will be working from Moriac Veterinary Clinic, whilst Drs Nev, Julia, Lissa and Robyn will be at North Geelong. 2. We will be returning to curb-side consulting. This means no clients will be allowed in the clinic. All communication will be done over the phone or outside. 3. The front door at both clinics will remained locked at all times. When you arrive for your appointment please call the front desk and let us know you are here. A staff member will come and speak to you and collect your pet. 4. Please do not come to the clinic if you have been overseas, have been in contact with a known COVID-19 case or have been feeling ill. If it is an emergency we will of course see your pet, but please let us know you are unwell as the appropriate PPE must be worn. 5. If you are in need of medication refills please call the clinic and we will be able to arrange to have these medications ready for you. We will ask that you pay for the medications over the phone. We will be limiting our transactions to card, with no cash being accepted. Please understand that these changes are meant to protect both clients coming into the clinic and our staff. We have lots of clients that are in a high-risk age group and we are very concerned about protecting them. Please follow the above guidelines and we will do our best to take care of your pets!

11.01.2022 We realise that many of you have been waiting anxiously outside as we examine your pets indoors due to COVID restrictions. We thank you for your cooperation and patience as we navigate through this difficult time. We are working hard to continue to provide the same high level of care for your pets while keeping everyone as safe as possible. Here is a photo of Perry during his annual health check and vaccination away from his owners today. He was a model patient!
