25.01.2022 Brett Wilkie the Oz E Cools Roos Superstar, taking out the 3rd best Skip for UBC 3
24.01.2022 UBC EVENT POSTPONED The board of Ultimate Bowls Pty Ltd and our host venue the Deer Park Club have made the decision to postpone our upcoming UBC event. In lig...ht of this decision and updated advice from the Australian Government and the Chief Health Officer of the Victorian Government’s Department of Human and Health Services, we believe it is in the best interests of everyone involved to postpone our event. As always, our main priority is the safety of everyone involved including players, attendees, volunteers, all event partners and members of the local community. It’s important to know that the event has not been cancelled and we will look forward to having another successful event at the Deer Park Club later in 2020. We will be working closely with the host venue in the coming days to find suitable dates to hold the Deer Park event of the Ultimate Bowls Championship. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and do hope we have your understanding regarding this decision. Please note that this postponement includes the Deer Park Challengers event too.
23.01.2022 UBC TEAMS UPDATE Over the next couple of weeks, we will provide some information on the line-ups of all teams in the UBC for 2020. There are several new UBC te...ams in the mix for 2020, and also many player movements which is going to make for an entertaining year ahead! Today we give you some updates on the final teams in Section A: North QLD Roos The North QLD Roos have opted for the same lineup as 2019. Many think this team will be one of the big improvers in 2020, a few different results will see them challenge for their first finals appearance. World Champion duo Shannon Mcilroy and Brett Wilkie spearhead the team, with team owner and Cloncurry legend Damien Mcgee their 3rd player. If the Roos play finals, look out! Moama Wow. A team full of genuine superstars! One of the greatest ever in Alex Marshall and 2018 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Aaron Wilson will partner up for the first time, and to top the team off is super lead Matty Baus. No question, Moama will be pre-season favourites and will be the team to beat in 2020. Flem Ken Colts One of the newcomers to the UBC, the Colts have put together an outstanding team of Victorian representatives. This will be Brett Foley's first year in the UBC and look for him to make an immediate impact. The ever consistent Ben Loughlin and former Australian rep Russell Green team up with Foley in what looks to be a very strong trio. We're tipping the Colts to play finals early in 2020. Whittlesea Eagles Whittlesea went close in 2019, however, a few unlucky games on the final day sealed their unfortunate fate. The Eagles have opted for the same trio, the Flapper brothers (Matt & Anthony) and Whittlesea champ Nick McIntyre. With a year under their belt, it's likely they will feature in finals in 2020. Can they do it at our first event of the year? That's the wrap for all teams in Section A! Comment below - who do you think will be the Top 6 in this section and advance through to the finals?! Later in the week we will provide an insight to the teams in Section B. For more information please head to our website - www.ultimatebowls.com.au

15.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS ULTIMATE BOWLS WEEK CONFIRMED The Deer Park Club will be the host venue of a new initiative of the UBC. The Ultimate Bowls Week will feature ...all three UBC events of 2020 in the same week at the same venue with $500,000 up for grabs. UBC CEO Mark Casey was thrilled with the news "Given the extent of challenges we are all facing at the current time, we feel it's important to be able to get our events up and running as early as possible. The Deer Park Club is an incredible host venue and we are looking forward to working with them to put on a feast of bowls which will delight bowls fans from all around the world. To say that I'm excited is a huge understatement." The dates of "The Ultimate Bowls Week" are yet to be finalised, however it's likely to be either late in 2020 or early in 2021. Earlier today we spoke with Australian legend and Exodas star Aron Sherriff about what he thought about the news. "This is an amazing idea, we are all missing the game so much so to be able to play all three events in the one week with half a million dollars in prize money will be awesome. We have a new look team with little "Nuggy" (Sean Ingham) coming in, it's going to be great and we are pumped to do well. Deer Park did a great job in 2019, it's a brilliant venue, and I'm definitely looking forward to it being a bit warmer this time round." Sherriff added an interesting point "It's going to be fascinating to see how everyone's form is, it's going to be a grueling test of physical and mental toughness that's for sure!" The dates and schedule will be confirmed as soon as possible.

08.01.2022 Ultimate Bowls Week - Team Preview This week we provide an insight to another three UBC teams in the North Qld Oz E COOL ROOS, Bowls Asia Tigers and Bowls Asi...a Eagles. NORTH QUEENSLAND ROOS The powerful North Queensland Roos will be once again led by New Zealand World Champion Shannon Mcilroy. Mcilroy is one of the most exciting players to watch, and he will be looking to lift the bar in the Ultimate Bowls Week. Many say, the Roos were one of the teams that underperformed in 2019, and Mcilroy, together with fellow World Champion Brett Wilkie will be out to impress. Team owner and all round good guy Damien Mcgee provided excellent support in 2019 and will be needed again if it’s the Roos turn for success at the Ultimate Bowls Week. Prediction Definitely will be playing in some finals matches, the question is how many. The new rule of Top 6 in the section goes through to the knockout rounds helps. If they are finish in the Top 6, then look out. They have the talent to go all the way. BOWLS ASIA DRAGONS The Bowls Asia Dragons have welcomed one of the stars of Hong Kong bowls in Chan Ken Che Ken. Chan is a young, exciting player who has had many years’ experience representing his country on the International scene. Lui Quoqiang and Yuanying Liu will be the final two players forming the Dragons outfit for the Ultimate Bowls Week. Prediction The Dragons will be up against it against some of the strong combinations in the UBC, however the inclusion of Chan will give them a huge boost. BOWLS ASIA EAGLES The Bowls Asia Eagles enjoyed a fantastic year in 2019, with the highlight being a quarter finalist in the first event of the year. The Eagles will be led by Chinese legend and team owner Ye Suiying, and they have secured two of the best female players from Hong Kong in Vivian Yip and Dorothy Yu. Yip was in fine form in 2019 and she will be looking to continue that during the Ultimate Bowls Week. Yu, will be in the UBC for the time but look for this talented player to shine. Prediction On paper the Eagles are the stronger of the two Bowls Asia teams, and after securing both Yip and Yu in the draft, the Eagles will be a team that will cause plenty of upsets. Vivian Yip’s attacking style of play suits the UBC format.
