25.01.2022 We have had a bit of a shuffle around with dates so we could use the reining arena at the Bluewater Equestrian Center. sorry for the inconvenience .

25.01.2022 i need help for the Extreme Cowboy this week end 17th & 18th on both days with the canteen both days scoring and scribing on Sunday

25.01.2022 This is the area at the equestrian centre we have been working on it for about 2 mths over 100 hrs of dragging , Ian has been sitting in the car 8 hrs a day 2 t...o 3 days a week to get the surface perfect, he has put in a massive effort ,so thankful to Ian it was only his expertise that allowed this be built, so excited its ready to ride in, love our reining arena See more

25.01.2022 Working on dressage arena no 1 this is going to be the permanent COwboy Dressage Challenge Court

24.01.2022 The committee has decided due to COVID 19 we have dropped our memberships price. NQRPHC memberships is now $40 this takes you through to jan 1st 2021

24.01.2022 We will begin building the reining arena next week. Im sure some many of you are wondering why after all the time money and effort over the past 5 yrs rebuild...ing the equestrian centre why the committee made the decision to move to a new home grounds. We know its going to cost the club more money time and effort to build. the club has now committed to building a second equestrian centre.these are the reasons why 1. WE WILL HAVE A REINING AREA AGAIN !!!!!!! We are the North Queensland Reining and Performance Horse Club. 2. Will have toilets the club will finally able to use the toilets in they were built in 2016. THE CLUB HAS SPENT OVER $10,000 ON TOILET HIRE IN THE LAST 5 YEARS. 2. Council held our club responsible for maintaining the grounds since 2015. our committee and volunteers dont have to work so hard maintaining a public grounds it took an average of 174man hours per year as well as wear and tear on everyones gear. When we moved our equipment off the council grounds, it became councils responsibility to maintain it again. WE WILL SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON MAINTENANCE EVERY YEAR. WE WONT HAVE TO MAINTAIN PUBLIC GROUNDS ANYMORE We will still be using the grounds to hold events in Townsville. 3. The club has a lease on the new home grounds many positives about this, the main one being that whatever the club builds the club owns it continues to be their property. Whatever was built on the council grounds became to councils property. THE CLUB WONT LOSE ASSETS TO COUNCIL. 4. We wont have to pay the council to use arenas and stables that we rebuilt. Our club was charged $80 a day when we had shows clinics or 2-day events with camping. All other clubs and users got the grounds for free. WE WONT HAVE TO PAY TO USE A FACILITIES WE BUILT 5. There is no reining surface any more at the equestrian centre, in fact, there is no safe surface that we can use for most of our sports. Reining arena is now very uneven and full of debris so cannot be used at all. Councils new rules are that every club can choose the standard of the arena, another club dragged the arena and left it full of debris and very uneven. There is a vast difference to what our club considers safe and usable and what other clubs have considered safe and usable. I use the guidelines of Equestrian Australia and the FEI that is the level surface free of debris. And our insurance requires us to do a risk assessment before every event. WE ARE A REINING CLUB WE NEED TO HAVE A SAFE REINING SURFACE !!!!!! 6. Because of councils new rules for the reining arena that made the arena unviable to use, even if we fixed it (would cost a lot and take a lot of time ) the same thing could happen every time another club used it and dragged it. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON WE MOVED THERE WAS NO WAY TO KEEP OUR RIDERS SAFE. 7. Club members will still have access and be able to use the new home grounds anytime they like. Club members can still use the public arena at bluewater thats the arena our club will be using as well as other venues in the Townsville to hold our events. HIRING VENUES IS WAY CHEAPER THAN MAINTAINING EQUESTRIAN CENTER OUR CLUB WILL BE SAVING THOUNDNS OF DOLLARS EVERY YEAR. 8. we will be able to put the beautiful tables and benches the club made in 2016 WE HAVE PERMISSION TO INSTALL THEM.

23.01.2022 So excited the arena fencing is arriving today. The arena should be finished in about 3 weeks. I finally go around to doing a complete scope of works and costi...ngs. My apologies I was hoping to have this done a lot earlier, I have been so busy with my studies at university since September. I will update everyone with progress photos so everyone can follow the progress of the build.

22.01.2022 Got the drag and a water truck in the arena this morning going to be a great day

18.01.2022 We normally ignore all the rumours and gossip but in this instance we have decided to respond Arena 1 at the equestrian centre is unsafe and we are unable to us...e it, it dose not comply with even the minimum standards of safety using the EA guideline . No Debris and even terrain , It is full of debris that can be easily seen and It is extremely uneven going from 130mm to just under 20mm in around 1mtr radius that makes it extremally dangerous to horses and riders and we cannot use it for our sports . It dose not pass the risk assessment required by our insurance company so we cannot use it at all in its present state. The arena was not the only thing that did not pass our risk assessment at the equestrian centre. So this is why we are using out side venues to be able to keep the club running to do some of our planned competitions, as well as using the grass arena at the equestrian centre for our training days and will continue to do so until the land management plan is finalised and the arena and other issues are fixed. Jennifer Elliot has demanded at the last council meeting that the mountain trail be moved so that her club can use that area for camping the mountain trail will have to move to Mingela because of this. The club will be using Mingela for some of there events as well as using the equestrian centre and other venues in Townsville, Reid river this was a necessary move to keep the club functioning and continue to put on the events that everyone enjoys . If you have any concerns or questions regarding this please email the club [email protected]
