25.01.2022 Big news from the Netherlands

22.01.2022 Be good like Teddy and Kobe and wear a mask! The NSW government has now made it compulsory for face masks to be worn in public indoor settings. Please ensure that you have one on before your enter our hospital. If you are unable to source your own, we will provide a single use mask to you upon arrival.... Our current Covid protocol only allows one client to accompany your pet. All other visitors will be asked to stay outside. If you are showing any signs of illness, currently isolating or have concerns about coming into the clinic, please stay home and we can discuss various options with you.

21.01.2022 Dear clients of North Randwick Vet: Please note that there has been a recent outbreak of Kennel Cough in the Eastern Suburbs. If your dog has been vaccinated against this, it is important to note that your dog could still get it, but their symptoms may be less serious. ... Kennel Cough or Canine Cough is incredibly contagious. If your dog is exhibiting signs of and nasal or ocular discharge and has a cough of any sort, please immediately refrain from socialising them and ring us up for an appointment if needed. To prevent the likelihood of your dog getting this contagiously virus, do not allow them to share watering bowls at parks or socialize your dog with other dogs you do not know. A single irresponsible or unwitting dog owner can have their sick dog spread kennel cough all around various dog parks, so please ring us if you need advice of any sort. Please also rethink bringing your dog into the vet practice if you are only picking up food or meds to minimise cross contamination. We very regularly disinfect all our surfaces with animal hospital grade disinfectant, but we see sick pets all the time and cannot guarantee your dog not coming into contact with them. Please keep your dog safe!

21.01.2022 Brothers Taco and Cooper were adopted by different families who ended up coming to the same vet and booking in their desexings on the same day, we love these coincidences and so did they

14.01.2022 The leptospirosis situation is constantly evolving. There have been more cases recently & the specialists at USyd have updated their advice to.... strongly recommending vaccination in dogs living within a 5km radius of Surry Hills, in Balmain, Crows Nest or its immediately surrounding suburbs or if your dog is in contact with rats. Please avoid any rat contact and don’t let your dog drink out of puddles. The vaccine has to be given twice 2-4 weeks apart and yearly thereafter.

10.01.2022 The very wet weather we've had recently has caused a burst of wild mushrooms and toadstools to spring up from the ground. There are many mushroom varieties that cause upset stomach. Pets can become ill within 15 minutes of nibbling on these mushrooms or symptoms may be delayed for up to 6 hours. Keep a close eye on your dog at parks and in your yard and ensure you remove these beautiful but toxic fungi!
