With the escalating infection rate of the virus, the Victorian Government released a new set of restrictions effective from the 2nd of August, lasting for 6 weeks and ending on 13th of September, (pending review) recommending that recreational activities such as tennis, be temporarily canceled and clubs closed until further notice. 17.01.2022 UPDATE - 14 May 2020 - President’s Message This is a message for all NSTC members. Tennis Court usage during the current COVID-19 pandemic.... Following on from the State Government’s announcement for the easing of current restrictions, tennis can now be played albeit in some limited form. Tennis Victoria has issued tennis clubs a Return to Tennis Guidelines which provide information to help ensure a safe approach to restarting tennis. Please be advised that whilst tennis can resume under Tennis Vic guidelines, the Club cannot open up courts and resume play until clearance has been given by Frankston City Council. The COVID-19 Disaster Management team at FCC is currently meeting to discuss all aspects related to sporting bodies resuming activities within the municipality. I have been advised by FCC Sport & Recreation that decisions and guidelines should be completed over the coming days and once that information is available, you will be notified when the courts are open and the guidelines that must be followed. It has been a challenging time for everyone over the past weeks but the resumption of tennis provides another activity and outlook for the family. Thank you for your patience and understanding over this difficult time, but hopefully resuming tennis is another positive step in the right direction. On behalf of myself and the NSTC committee, please follow the Government guidelines for safe practices, keep healthy and take care. Alan Brooke President
