11.01.2022 Another tip for walking to stay grounded: Tip#3 Swing Your Arms This may sound a bit obvious however, walking is a full body movement and swinging your arms is... very important. A good arm swing will activate the back muscles, providing you with more trunk stability. To be more energy efficient in your walking pattern, become more aware of how you swing your arms move the opposite arm to the leg moving forward, this will encourage a more natural trunk rotation. If there is no or minimal arm swing in your walking pattern you may be encouraging overuse injury and pain or discomfort in your lower limbs See more

Parking: Meter parking available in Westbourne Street This seminar will appeal to a very broad audience, including people living with chronic pain or caring for someone with this condition. Keynote speaker is Dr Charles Brooker, staff anaesthetist, pain specialist and Director of the Pain Management Research Centre at Royal North Shore. Dr Brooker will be assisted by at least one patient living with chronic pain, and one of PMRI's research team leaders, Dr Paul Wrigley, staff pain specialist and head of the clinical pain neurophysiology research unit. Following a panel Q&A, attendees are invited to share in refreshments in the auditorium foyer and chat with the speakers and other attendees.
