24.01.2022 REMINDER OF THE AGM THIS WEDNESDAY Time- 6.30pm Venue- NWAC club rooms. As previously outlined in emails, the club is in desperate need of volunteers (in board roles and to help at interclub). Without more people volunteering to help, the club will have reduced meets, hand timing only or simply not have enough board members to continue. ... It would be great if our members (parents/ athletes/ coaches/ family) could attend the AGM Wednesday to show your support for the club. Official positions to be filled.... Secretary Canteen operator/s Board members x2 Thanks NWAC board

18.01.2022 HOW DO WE DETERMINE WHICH NEWSPAPER ARTICLES ARE SHARED?!? The club thinks all of our members are absolutely fabulous and we love to see all of you in the paper! Unfortunately we sometimes miss seeing articles which are published in the media and therefore miss sharing them to the NWAC Facebook page. The club encourages all athletes/ parents to please inbox the club if there is an article you would like shared or to share the article yourself on the page. ... The board do their best to maintain the Facebook page, however as we all work full time and have commitments outside of athletics this is sometimes challenging. Thank you for understanding NWAC Board

18.01.2022 INTER HIGH CROSS COUNTRY: The Inter High Cross Country will be held on Wednesday 23 September at the Penguin Athletics Track and surrounding areas. This event w...ill be a spectator free event. We respectfully ask all parents/guardians to ensure they do not attend the Inter High Cross Country to help us stay within the current COVID-19 guidelines. There will be live updates throughout the day, so that you can track your child’s progress. Please note there will be no canteen or catering options available on the day to purchase food or water. All competitors are advised that they will need to bring all the food and water they require for the day. All competitors are asked to wear their racing attire to the track, as changing facilities will be limited due to COVID-19. If you have any questions please contact your child’s school or email Alex Hardy at [email protected]

17.01.2022 MEET THE NEW CLUB DIARY This guy will be found in the lighting box (where the lights are turned on) as of next Thursday. Anyone who is using the lights is asked to please write their names in the book on the date they were there and the duration (eg. Nicole 1hour). If you are training with your whole squad please write the name of each person present (eg. Nicole, Aaron, Angus 90minutes) ... The lighting charge is $10/ hour. This will be divided by the number of people using the lights for that time. Each member will receive an invoice for their total lighting usage at the end of winter (when the lights are no longer required). Please be honest about your light usage. When you write your name in the book, if there are other people also using the track please also write their names down, as they may have forgotten to do so. If your name appears in the book without a time beside it, it will be assumed your session was 90mins and you will be charged this amount. Any questions, please feel free to comment below or dm the club Thanks and take care NWAC board

15.01.2022 Dear Members Please note that the NWAC AGM is to be held Wednesday 19th August at the Penguin Athletics Track starting at 6.30pm. The AGM must have at least 10 adult members present to proceed ( 9.1 NWAC Constitution) ... This is a very important AGM. The future of the NWAC is at stake. At least four board members will be retiring or resigning. They need to be replaced. The club is in dire need of 1. Board members 2. Officials 3. Volunteers Without enough officials and volunteers the ability of the club to operate is severely hampered. Without enough officials and volunteers there may be a need to limit the number of club competition days. The ability to use photo finish technology requires trained officials or volunteers. The NWAC is happy to train and assist volunteers and the cost there is no cost associated with joining Athletics Tasmania. So if you are interested in securing the future of the NWAC please 1. Attend the AGM 2. Consider being a board member, official or volunteer. Mike Gunson President

13.01.2022 WORKING BEEEEEEEE!!! Hi Club members and volunteers, Please note that we are holding a working bee on Monday 2nd November starting at 9.00am. 11.01.2022 RE-OPENING OF THE PENGUIN TRACK. Please find attached the plan (sorry about the pics.... Nicole couldn’t work out how to upload the file haha, no surprise there) for returning to the track which has been approved by the Central Coast Council. Please read the plan carefully!! Athletes (or coaches) must book their training time. Please forward details to [email protected] with requested time and the names of all athletes attending. We must keep a very good record of who... attends the track in case of another COVID19 out break. Please be mindful there maybe multiple athletes/squads wanting to use the track when you request a booking. Key points 1. Changerooms and toilets will be locked. 2. No NWAC equipment is to be used under any circumstances. 3.Only 10 athletes and coaches are allowed on the Penguin track at any one time. 4. TRAINING TIMES MUST BE BOOKED with Mike at [email protected] . Please be flexible as you may not be able to use the track at your preferred time with the ten person rule.Maybe use the track on Monday and Wednesday instead of Tuesday and Thursday. 5. The NWAC is required to provide the Central Coast Council a list of all people who have used the track at any time. 6. Please do not use the track if you have not booked the track. 7. Social distancing is required at all times during training. Hopefully more athletes will be able to use the track within a few months. So if track (or field) training is not absolutely necessary at this time of the year the NWAC would like you to train elsewhere for a few months. Please feel free to contact the board if you wish to discuss this further. Thank you NWAC Board :)
