24.01.2022 The Smash Tas Tour is heading to the North-West coast! For those of you who dont know, the Smash Tas Tour is encouraging young people between the ages of 8-16 to come and try badminton! The sessions will be run by former Australian National Coach Lasse Bundgaard. The location and dates for the North-West coast are as follows: East Devonport - Sunday 11th August Wynyard - Monday 12th August Devonport - Tuesday 13th August... Burnie - Wednesday 14th August Ulverstone - Thursday 15th August Deloraine - Friday 16th August For only $10 youll get a free racquet and a session with an Ex-Australian Coach! 16.01.2022 This years Coastal Badminton roster has currently been postponed until the 4th of June as we monitor how the situation is unfolding. If you have any concerns please contact Brent Munday on 0418 202 980 - Alongside this news, we have the following announcement from Badminton Tasmania: Due to the Coronavirus, and the moving landscape across the world and locally, especially with sporting events and gatherings, we have made the incredibly hard decision at Badminton Tasmania to p...ostpone all Badminton Tasmania sanctioned events until the end of May. This means the postponement of the following events: - City of Launceston; - GOSEN Tasmanian Teams Championships (including Bellchambers Cup); and - City of Hobart; and the - Yonex Come and Try sessions; A decision on the remainder of the Badminton Tasmania calendar, along with the above-mentioned events, will be made mid-May once more information becomes available. 12.01.2022 Howdy all. This seasons coastal roster will be kicking off on Thursday the 6th of August with the lightning premiership. The Grand Final is expected to be played on the 22nd of October with 3 weeks following of other Thursday night events. Such as a teams relay, Bellchambers Cup and the annual North vs North West event. We are currently finalising teams and format so please keep your eyes peeled for when that is released. We look forward to seeing you all back on court!

Registrations are now open for the first ever Greater Northern tournament which will be held in Deloraine on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of August. Entries close Thursday the 20th of August. Dont miss out on being a part of hopefully the first of many Greater Northern tournaments!

06.01.2022 With restrictions easing we are hopeful to still hold a Coastal roster this season! Our new starting date is set for Thursday the 13th of August and set to finish on the 12th of November. This will be a shorter roster than usual but should still be plenty of games for those participating. Now we have names of those players that were wanting to play this years roster, but with the changed dates this may change things for some people. Please let either myself know (Stephen Gal...e) via commenting on this post or by inboxing me or by messaging Brent on 0418 202 980 whether you are still interested in playing this years coastal roster with the proposed date changes! *Please keep in mind things can still change due to what we are told by the government with numbers of people allowed in centres etc. However this is our plan moving forward and all things pending should go ahead as planned!

Badminton is fun for all students and is a Sporting Schools Program. Sessions can be delivered in primary schools and secondary schools across Tasmania by coaches with Olympic, National and State coaching experience. I attach below for your information a flyer with further information. We would love to help you provide your students with an opportunity to experience the sport of badminton. 04.01.2022 Howdy all, teams have been finalised for the upcoming teams event tournament this weekend, however quite a lot of people haven't paid the entry fee (or have paid the incorrect amount) Junior player - $25 Adult player - $35 Then if you elected to attend the dinner saturday night, thats an extra $30 per person attending.... If you haven't paid please do so ASAP, or at bare minimum have correct cash on the day (as we won't have eftpos for the tournament). Shuttles will be available for purchase on the day (Gosen GT 1000) for $3.50 per shuttle or $34 a tube, again please have correct cash for these, as it makes our lives so much easier! 03.01.2022 To keep all of our players up to date and safe during this time. Due to the COVID-19 virus, the City of Launceston tournament which was expected to be held on the first weekend of April has now been cancelled. Alongside this, we have also postponed the start of our coastal badminton roster. We shall keep you all informed with what our plan of action is, but at this stage, we have no specific date of return!
