23.01.2022 A huge thank you to the Mount Isa City Council for supporting the North West Canoe Club. If you ever wanted to hit the water, we have it all - kayaks, SUP's, canoes, dragon boats and coming soon.....OUTRIGGERS

23.01.2022 What an honour.....to have so many people join us in the Virtual Gregory, to be nominated by Frank Kingma and to be awarded the 2020 Event of the Year. Congrats to everyone involved.

23.01.2022 We have paddlers from Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and New South Wales enjoying the 2020 Virtual Gregory in May. If you have paddling friends... in WA and the NT, get them to jump onboard and help us make this an Australian wide paddle. A special shout out to little old ladies in Tassie. Dianne is betting she will be the only one - let's find her some virtual company.

22.01.2022 Some traditions need to be kept alive and camping May Day Weekend is one of them. Who's going for a paddle, camping at home and cooking the pig this weekend?

20.01.2022 Due to the on-going uncertainty relating to COVID-19 and the current emergence of hotspots interstate and now in Queensland, combined with tightening travel restrictions and border closures, the North West Canoe Club has reluctantly cancelled the 2020 Gregory Canoe River Marathon. We hope you will join us in actuality or virtually for the 2021 Gregory Canoe River Marathon which we hope will be bigger and better than ever. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued suppo...rt of the club and, once again, thank those of you who took part in the inaugural Virtual Gregory. And thanks again to all our sponsors without whom we couldn’t run the Gregory River Canoe Marathon - in reality or virtually! Paddle on and stay safe.

18.01.2022 May is just around the corner and we all know that May is the month to be sitting alongside the Gregory River, enjoying the serenity or taking the time to catch... up with old mates. Whilst we can't be there in person, we can dream whilst paddling the 40km 2020 Virtual Gregory. Registrations are now open.

18.01.2022 Completed my 2020 Virtual Gregory yesterday by way of a 50km paddle in my OC1, this was my longest ever paddle, was tired afterwards but super happy to have achieved it. The Pioneer River in Mackay was stunning location

16.01.2022 If only we could travel

16.01.2022 The Gregory River Canoe Marathon 2021 wouldn't be possible without our amazing sponsors. So many of our sponsors have been supporting the event for many years and we can't thank you enough for helping us share this iconic Race with the rest of Australia. Glencore Queensland Metals

14.01.2022 Registrations don’t close until the 30 May so if you want to me a part of the action - register now.

11.01.2022 Shouldn't give Wilson too much stick, he is our poster boy after all. He's looking mighty hip in the new Gregory merch. Register and paddle the 2020 Virtual ...Gregory and you too can look as cool as Larry https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?E=39715 It appears the men's t-shirts may be 1 size larger than previous years. If you normally choose an XL, you should be sweet in a large.

10.01.2022 If you were sitting on the fence, you no longer have to - an additional weekend to paddle your 40km. 2020 - the year like no other.

09.01.2022 Anyone else reckon Wilson's too chicken to try this?

07.01.2022 Registrations are now open for the 2020 Virtual Gregory. All you have to do is paddle 40km throughout May 2020. Paddle in 1km efforts or enjoy a long day on the water. The choice is yours. https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?E=39715

07.01.2022 And another place to visit when we can!

05.01.2022 Looking to keep cool on the weekend? Pop down to North West Canoe Club at Lake Moondarra any Saturday afternoon from 4:00pm to have a go in a canoe, kayak,... dragon boat, or stand-up paddle board. The club will also soon have some new outriggers thanks to a grant from the Mount Isa City Council. How do you go out on the water?

04.01.2022 Congrats to Georgie Athanasiou for receiving life membership on Sunday. George has been looking after our finances and website for years now and we are very grateful for all the work he does behind the scenes.

02.01.2022 The members of the North West Canoe Club spend a week setting up for the Gregory River Canoe Marathon prior to your arrival. 2 days to the weekend - bring it on!!
