08.01.2022 You can avoid being scammed by never paying a bond directly to an owner. A little known fact is that owners are not allowed to ask for the bond to be paid to themselves - it is prohibited under the Residential Tenancy Act. If you are a tenant, you should only pay the bond to either a licensed property agent or the Rental Deposit Authority (through MyBond). We can give you expert advice on all your tenancy issues in the North-West.
