This PANDA Week, the team's not just raising awareness, but actually aiming to encourage real and lasting action across the country. 22.01.2022 #WomensHealthWeek Starts tomorrow! I plan to share something everyday to celebrate all things womens health.

16.01.2022 We always think of our pelvic floor as being weak and needing Kegel exercises to strengthen. But did you know that your pelvic floor muscles can also be overactive? And strengthening may not be the answer? Muscles that are too tight can also contribute to incontinence. Other common signs are pain and voiding dysfunction such as urgency and frequency. A Pelvic Physiotherapist can determine what YOUR pelvic floor needs.

15.01.2022 Thank you @christinemcovino for this beautiful reminder Dear body, I love you and I thank you It’s easy to get frustrated with your body during pregnan...cy and postpartum, especially postpartum after loss. But this time, my third time postpartum, I’m embracing it all the stretching, the soreness, the squish, the weird marks and the engorged, leaking boobs. I’m embracing the beauty of postpartum this time around and soaking in every moment. I got to bring my baby home It’s surreal still. November last year Alex and I left the hospital without our son and I didn’t think I’d survive it. I didn’t think my body could do it again. But I did survive it somehow and I did have a successful post-loss pregnancy and birth. My body and my mind did it. I’m not magically healed because Elora is here safe and sound now, I miss Liam every day and that’s the way it will always be. One does not cancel out the other, all my children hold the same space in my heart. I guess what I’m saying is no, every day is not great, postpartum is not all rainbows and butterflies, but today was a good day and I’m holding on to that. I’m celebrating our beautiful new family member. And I’m celebrating the beauty of my postpartum body. My body that gives life. Dear body, I love you and I thank you

12.01.2022 I will never tell a woman they can't exercise!! Sometimes things need to be modified, but it's never forever .. just for now while you improve your pelvic floor function!

12.01.2022 This AMAZING App may save your child's life! Monitoring fever and medications may seem like a simple thing to do, but when your child is sick, you are tired, you are swapping care between your partner..... things can easily be missed. This takes the "remembering" out of it!!!! Congrats Liz and Sarah!

07.01.2022 Unpopular opinion: I didn't like the newborn phase. It rocked me. It broke me. I wasn't prepared for how harrowing it would be. As I looked around on social med...ia, I saw photos of smiling families, captions about newborn snuggles, the joy they never imagined possible. What I didn't hear about? That after I gave birth, I wouldn't get to recover. I ached, I bled for six weeks, I didn't sleep a solid night for months, my body hurt so bad for so long while taking care of a helpless little creature who needed me every single minute of the day. That my marriage would just about crumble under the stress of it all, that we'd resent each other, that we'd drift apart. We even took steps before baby arrived to make plans to try and prevent this - but it still happened. That my baby would cry nearly every moment he was awake, our lives would be ruled by reflux and nonstop vomiting, that I'd have so much anxiety about his sleep and eating that I wouldn't leave my house for months. That I would scroll my phone and feel jealous of strangers who apparently had babies that smelled like "new baby" and were "soaking in snuggles." Mine smelled like vomit and the only thing we were soaking in was bodily fluids. Photos of new families hiking, photos of people who "got their body back." Photos that just a few months ago I would have smiled at, I now viewed, and instantly cried - feeling like a complete failure. So, I'll say it: I didn't like the newborn phase. I was sad and angry and in pain for most of it - to the point that I barely remember any of it. When I look back at those 4 months, I have nothing but compassion for that version of me - the one who cried, was exhausted, and barely made it through. She is a warrior, she did her best with oh-so-little support. If you're struggling in the phase you're in, if you're seeing perfect photos on your feed, if you're feeling like a failure, hear this: you are not alone, you are not a bad mom, you are HUMAN. Those feeds aren't real. We all struggle. Even that blogger posting perfect photos of her perfect house and perfect life and perfect kids. To struggle is to be human. You are not alone. You are not alone. You are not alone.
