You will learn how to mix fresh mocktails.... Keith will be there are and showcase his master chef skills as well. He will show us how to make healthy canaps. Friends and Family are all welcome. To help support those in need, Healthe Care Australia and Luye Medical are committed to raising funds in a thoughtful and coordinated way to support those impacted by this unprecedented disaster. Throughout January our Healthe Care sites will be coordinating fundraising activities to raise funds for our local communities. 20.01.2022 YOURS Workshop: Japanese Food with Mickey We had another yum yum session yesterday to showcase quick, easy, tasty and healthy cooking workshop. Everyone seemed to be pretty happy with a good feed! Apart from tuna in sushi, there was no meat in any of the dishes and these are another recipe for vegetable lovers to try (Dont worry meat lovers! You can add any meat to these dishes as you wish). Oh, and you can find all the ingredients in your local supermarket (in Tasmania any...way). Here are the cooking tips from Mickey. Enjoy cooking! Japanese Curry - Use the Japanese curry paste! - Put all the ingredients in a pot, add water and boil. Put the paste once all the vegs are ready to eat. Ready to serve once the curry looks thickened! #Pro tip: Make sure you at least double the amount of onion recommended the instruction on the curry paste box. Rolled Sushi - Its sushi once the rice is rolled in a seaweed sheet! - We put mayonnaised tuna and cucumber in it but you can put anything in it. Maybe create your original sushi. - Cook medium grain rice. Add sugar, a bit of salt and vinegar and have a quick mix. Ready to serve once you roll that sushi! #Pro tip: Dont put too much rice on the seaweed sheet. It becomes huge if you do that and it might not be most elegant to put it in your mouth. Okonomiyaki - It is a Japanese savory fritter! - Add an egg to normal flour or self raising flour and mix them up. Add veg stock till it becomes just like pancake dough. Add vegs and cook them just like fritters. Put mayonnaise and Okonomiyaki sauce, and your dinner is served! #Pro tip: Add chopped up ginger pickles in the dough gives zing and freshness to the flavor.

19.01.2022 YOURS Winter Mocktail Party We had fun, mess, a bit of poetry and a lot of sugar! I would like to share a bit of the taste of our winter mocktails. A bit of imagination and a bit of your personal touch make your mocktails very unique and give a little spice to your winter chill. Enjoy your winter everyone!... > Mulled Apple Ingredients 1L of Apple juice 1 Sliced orange 1 Sliced lemon 1 Sliced apple 1 Star anise 2 Cloves 1 Cinnamon stick Method Gently simmer ingredients together for about half an hour. Be careful not to boil. Strain the cider into individual mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and whipped cream, if desired. Poem with this mocktail: Winter solitude- in a world of one colour the sound of the wind. Matsuo Bash, Japan 17th century > Black Tea Sour Ingredients 60 mls brewed black tea, chilled 30 mls fresh lemon juice A dash of grenadine 2 teaspoons of sugar syrup 1 egg white Directions 1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker (without ice), close and shake well. 2. Add ice to the shaker, close and shake again. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve. 4. John Updike, US, 20th Century > Moca Chocola Ingredients 1/4 cup heavy cream 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup 1/2 cup strong coffee whipped cream Instructions Spoon the chocolate syrup into a glass. Slowly pour the cream over the chocolate syrup. Over the back of a spoon, pour the coffee slowly over the cream. Add a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with fresh mint. 08.01.2022 Suzies Cooking Tips Chopping takes the time most but once that is all done these quick, easy and healthy dishes take just about 10 minutes to cook! The best tip for me was I can turn the things I can find in my fridge into soup and stir fries in no time with a bit of imagination. Corn Soup - Corn floor to add thickness and pour half beaten eggs around to create ribbon like presentation.... Stir Fries - Make one of Suzies special sauces by mixing oyster sauce, plum sauce, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce and a dash of sesame oil. Cook your stir fry with it and, Voila, your dinner is served! - Marinating meat in white wine, canola/peanut oil, and 2 table spoon of corn flour over night will tenderize your meat nice and juicy! Thai Soup - Even with packaged soup, adding fresh ingredients makes it healthy and, YES!, it tastes better!
