25.01.2022 52 Battalion was out in Bindoon over the weekend. 110 Cadets attended with training involving 1A Recruits, 1B Navigation, the Robotics elective, and Communications/Command Post skills.

23.01.2022 Over the period of the 4th - 13th January, the Brigade conducted the 2019 Cadet Under Officer and Cadet Warrant Officers Courses. We saw 47 Cadet Sergeants fro...m across WA attend, supported by 25 Cadet, ACS and ADF staff members. This course is the final training package delivered to Cadets, providing the knowledge for promotion to the rank of either Cadet Warrant Officer Class Two or Cadet Under Officer. These Cadets will now lead, mentor and train their subordinate Cadets at unit, battalion and brigade activities as senior leaders. The 10 days held at Leeuwin Barracks, Fremantle, focused on training Cadets in platoon level Leadership, human behaviour and mentoring, the Duties and Responsibilities of their roles, Command Post fundamentals, as well as largely on preparing training at unit level, amongst other content. We will have a video with the remainder of the course photo’s uploaded to this page in the near future. Thank you to 2LT(AAC) Smith for these stunning photo’s.

18.01.2022 The former CAPT(AAC) Dyer was very influential for many generations of Army Cadets. Using his experience from his military history, Terry Dyer not only taught cadets how to advance themselves but also how to help each other. His legacy will always be upheld in the Northam cadet unit and his leadership impact will be passed down for many generations to come. Thank you for everything Terry Dyer

08.01.2022 Cadet Zachariah Jackson created a care package for an Australian soldier who was serving overseas last Christmas. Due to Zachariah's act of kindness and selflessness the soldier replied to him with a letter and his very own service patch. Just like Zachariah, we encourage everyone to perform an act of selflessness no matter how big or small. Later this year we hope Zach can lead the entire cadet unit with developing more care packages for overseas servicemen and women.

02.01.2022 The count down is on! One more day until cadets kicks off so make sure you don't miss out. Feel free to rock up as early as 6pm up until 6.30pm so we can get started with induction straight away. Hope to see you there

01.01.2022 Friday 18th to Sunday 20th May Northam Army Cadets conducted an combined unit camp with its brother unit, 50 ACU Midland. The weekend entailed of cadets learning new field skills and built on their previous knowledge which was used later on in the camp to complete the weekend task.... Saturday: Cadets learned how to fill in navigation data sheets and other basic navigation skills with Cadet NCOs and CPL(AAC) Riley. The cadets were then given tasks that can only be achieved as a team, teaching them the power of teamwork. Later in the day cadets participated in a navigational exercise where they were given multiple checkpoints within an 8km distance. The cadets were teamed against each other and had to refrain from being spotted at the same time as trying to stop the other teams. This allowed cadets to practice their camouflage and concealment, movement by day, ratel, navigation, observation skills, and section formations. A lantern stalk topped off the night, with cadets completing the first round individually and the second in sections lots. Sunday: The cadets started the day with an observation trail by CDTLCPL Donnelly. Sections were led along a path where they had to try to spot all the miscellaneous objects in the field (there were 26 concealed items but they didn't know that). The combined unit camp brought the two units closer together and cadets were able to make more friends, build on and learn new skills, and understand the importance of teamwork.
