17.01.2022 WA'S AVON VALLEY JOINS SPEEDWAY AUSTRALIA With its high banks and smooth surface, Western Australia’s Avon Valley has long had a reputation as one of the states... raciest tracks. Now under new ownership, this potential-filled venue is in the midst of a massive transformation to turn it into a world-class Motorsport facility one that we are proud to welcome to the Speedway Australia family. Having purchased the facility in late-2019, Northam Motorplex Pty Ltd.’s Rick Mussara begun work behind the scenes on a huge infrastructure project to turn the central wheatbelt track into a spectator and competitor friendly, modern venue. There would obviously be many people who might be sceptical about the new venture, with the venue having cancelled more events than it conducted in the past few years. Hence why we are in the process of upgrading the facility to a point, where both competitors and spectators will want to come the venue, said Musarra. Earthworks around the spectator viewing areas and the construction of new infrastructure and facilities to better accommodate crowds are just the beginning, as the new operator aims to see the facility and the sport flourish in the region for the medium to long term. Under a strong promotional team spearheaded by former National Street Stock Champion, Jamie Oldfield, the venue has signed up to Speedway Australia well in advance of their grand re-opening to access the available benefits as soon as possible. The 3-Star track looks to host a variety of competitor groups, from Outlaw Karts and Junior Sedans, right the way through to Street Stocks, Production Sedans, Late Models and Sprintcars, and will no doubt feature prominently in the major event calendar in years to come. For more information about the venue, check out the Avon Valley Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/northammotorplex We wish Rick, and the team at Avon Valley all the best with their preparations for an exciting future!
16.01.2022 Only 1 sleep to go :) A big thankyou to everyone who has helped get the venue ready for this weekend. I would personally like to thank the following people... Trevor Reynolds - Four Seven Motorsports Tim Landrigan - TLC Contracting Mick Lang - Roadline Civil David Graham - Midland Truck Sales West Coast Outlaw Kart Club And all the volunteers who will help run tomorrows event. We are hoping this is the first of many Outlaw Kart events in the future. With some good plans in place for further improvements. We are hosting a free sausage sizzle after the racing, a limited amount of drinks available for $1. Their is no bar or canteen for the event, so please bring along any supplies. Just a reminder all competitors will park their race machines on the infield, where crews and competitors are welcome to stay. All tow vehicles and trailers need to be in the pits. Regards Jason Bloxsidge -
