25.01.2022 Northam Senior High School students had the privilege of hosting Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Barry Marshall and Professor Andy Whiteley. They spoke to all students about Science and in particular Professor Marshall's discovery for how to cure stomach ulcers with antibiotics. UWA research students, part of the Microblitz internship, conducted activities with our students. It was and exciting day and the experience has inspired students to engage in Science! A big thank you to Ms Jacqueline Wong and the Science staff for organising the event.

18.01.2022 Operation Christmas Child is an excellent way of demonstrating both the Year 7 motto of "Be good, be kind and pay it forward" and the school's vision: "A Community United". The idea is to fill a shoebox with gifts for children less fortunate than ourselves, so they have some joy to unwrap at Christmas! Shoeboxes will arrive in Week 1, Term 4 and filled shoeboxes are due back to Miss Polain by Friday, 30 October.

03.01.2022 R U OK? Day is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? and support those struggling with life's ups and downs. Today at Northam SHS we acknowledged the day with an extended break so the school community could spend some time listening to music, talking and playing some sport. Visitors from agencies such as Headspace and PCYC came along to offer support material and advice. It was a really fun day and the message to ask your family and friends, R U OK?, is definitley part of the Northam SHS culture.
