22.01.2022 We hung a Shingle....Well, sort of. It's inside the workshop and just for us. This is a workshop project that was put on the back-burner for far to long. It was hand painted the old fashioned way A.K.A, slowly with a tiny brush. It was so worth it.
21.01.2022 "Something New This Way Comes..." We have been busy tooling up for the next product launch! Our 14" Bolo Shoulder Carry Sheaths are a hit, so we are currently testing a light weight version to suit the 12" Scout machetes. Keep an eye on this space for updates. Spoiler alert, it's a very capable little machete! The 12" Scout (Latin) machetes & sheaths are not on the website yet as we are still hard-work testing all the mods and combos. We have plenty of stock for the early b...irds though so just send me an email. Anyone out there know what a leatherwork Stitching Horse is? We needed a better tool, so we built one. 18.01.2022 Look who's got a New Sheath Builder page! It's been a busy project but we finally have a 'One Stop Shop' where you can build up your own custom sheath rig. You can piece together your own Belt Hung or Backpack sheath in all the colour options, with or without a handle strap, all from page. ... We have a few more things to move around on the site. 13.01.2022 Winter Is Coming!!! This was just another fun workshop project for us here on the farm. We rescued a very neglected axe head as well as a discarded Ash handle and made a Pickaroon. Sometimes, it's the little things (Like a new tool!) that can make all the difference while you work.
11.01.2022 Now with even more Grippiness! We stumbled across an even better technique to put a targeted texture on a machete handle...and we're loving it. If you're a fan of grippy handles, this new texture really promotes a very positive grip. 10.01.2022 Just a little firewood processing motivation
07.01.2022 First up, we all are just fine here at North Arm Machete Co. We stayed quiet through the long Drought because we managed. The Bushfires were a shocker for us but we made it through (with a few close calls!). We did not post out of respect to everyone who were not so lucky. The Floods and the long wet since January...well at least we're not on fire any more. I could do without the mosquito plague and a few dry days to slash the paddocks, mow the lawns and start splitting fire...wood for winter. And now the 'Beer Flu' situation. It's been a long 6 months for all of us, but we're Aussies. We have all been tested before and are going to pull through this together!... hence the KEEP CALM themed image with a CROWN tossing twist! Our little family's farm business is not shying away due to a crisis. We are doing the opposite and have decided to expand our line. We were sharpening tools and machetes for farmers and campers long before this situation, and will be long after. We are going to post up some more info soon but there are a lot of new machetes coming soon. As far as this current situation goes, we just received a huge stock of machetes and we are matching them with a big stock of sheaths. We are trading as usual within all the common sense Government health guidelines. Your safety is important to us. Current shipping times for us are normal at the moment. We're very efficient! Most of the simple orders are shipped out within 24hrs. Some of our more involved mods can take a bit more time. We always let our customers know when their order is on its way. 03.01.2022 Need To Get A Grip? Not everyone loves a smooth tool handle so we came up with a new mod to fix that. It's textured in all the right places and feels lovely in the hand. How do we add some grippy texture to the handle? After we shape, sand & polish the timber (part of our Handle Shaping Service), we add in one extra step with a round file and rough texture the important areas while keeping the cheeks smooth. It looks a whole lot better than a rough sandpaper finish and you e...nd up with a better grip.
