21.01.2022 North Beach Lions Walkathon held 1st November Star Swamp Heritage Trail. It was almost washed away with all the rain but our loyal members, friends and family turned out in force with their umbrellas and raincoats. Participants hopped over all the puddles but enjoyed the native bush which sparkled in the rain. The grass trees were flowering as were the banksia. The walkers were also able to read about the history of Star Swamp which was a stock route in the 1800s to early 1900s, a quarantine station for camels, a sanitation disposal site and a watering hole for horses of the Australian Army 10th light horse division during the second world war. It is now a beautiful 96 hectare conservation reserve managed by the City of Stirling.

19.01.2022 North Beach Lions members not only "Serve the Community" but we do enjoy our regular social nights as well. Consider becoming a member.
