14.01.2022 North B grade on a roll! By Snagglepuss. North have made it 2 wins and a tie from three games holding off Central at the Zinc. North 6/125 (schorn 32, Rogers 21, Victory 20, Staker 19) Def... Central 6/117 (D Foggo 40 Sheppard 2/22 6overs Millsteed 2/32 6 overs Victory 1/8 6 overs) North won the toss for the third week in the row and elected to bat first. The iconic duo of Staker and Rogers opened up and once again stood up in a 47 run partnership before Rogers fell for 21 in the 14th over. Staker followed shortly after drinks for 19. The scoring was slow going with Central bowling tight lines and when Victory fell for 20 in the 24th over the score was only 87. Schorn once again showed he can score quickly and with the help of Hunt powered the score on to 125 giving North a respectable total for the bowlers to work with. North’s bowling and fielding has been brilliant since the Xmas break and once again it was a standard where you would think they actually practice it! Victory bowled his 6 straight while the ever reliable and extremely accurate Bell along with Roach dried the runs up. At the 15 over drinks break, Central were just 1/38 and North were in the box seat. Sheppard was introduced after drinks and struck twice and could easily have had 4 or 5 wickets from his six overs with many balls so close to bowling the central batsman. With three overs to go Central needed 32 runs... a similar position to last week with West. Some clutch death bowling from Bell and Millsteed made sure there wouldn’t be a repeat of last week’s tie. Central finishing 9 runs short. Harry Roach deserves a special mention this week. North’s fielding has improved dramatically in recent weeks and Harry has taken big steps towards being a regular in the 11. He took a great catch at mid on and had numerous run out chances. Well done doggies... training this week.. let’s get there!

02.01.2022 What an awesome 4 years to be involved in cricket. We thought the 3peat from 07/10 would be the height of our generations time in cricket.... Then the A/B grade double happened in 18/19 and surely that was it. Now we wake up as a club with four A grade premierships in a row and after speaking to all the players last night, a hunger to go for the holy 5!!!... Has there been a better time to be a North player or supporter? This lucky, lucky President can say hand on heart, the last 4 years have been the best. Thank you to all the supporters who came to the Alma yesterday or watched live on frogbox. Congratulations to our players that took to the field and well done to all that have played their part during the year. Let’s go for 5. Well done doggies!!! P.S. there is still room for improvement! Let’s get the triple in 21/22... A grade B Grade and the Ladies!!!!
