25.01.2022 The 2020 Metropolitan Encourage Shield competition got underway on Sunday This year, Northbridge is fielding two teams in the event - Northbridge Blue and Northbridge Red. Our Blue team is made up of players from last year’s successful team that made the metropolitan final. Our Red team is predominantly new players - many of whom have only recently acquired their handicaps. Our Blue team took on North Ryde at Oatlands, and were quickly back into rhythm with a 4.5 to 1.5 win. Our Red team took on Kogarah at Cromer, and were defeated 4 to 2. But the two wins by Anika and Liam were outstanding debut efforts. You all did Northbridge proud

25.01.2022 The annual Admiral's Cup was held yesterday, sponsored by our President Phil 'The Admiral' Lewis! There was a very special range of prizes on offer to the 143 players who took part. This year's winners of the 2BBB were Peter Mountford and Beverley Lewis with 50 points! The Individual winner was Mal Matthews with 40 points.... Bev Lewis also took out the Ladies event with 36 points! Congratulations to our 2020 winners and thank you Phil for your generous sponsorship of the day!

23.01.2022 Last weekend’s annual Northbridge Rotary Club Fundraiser was a huge success! The event raised a grand total of $3,500 all of which will go towards supporting important Rotary programs such as Shelter Box, Youth Support Plans and others. Thank you to our wonderful members who donated so generously to such a worthy cause, the volunteers from Rotary who ran a number of great fun events on the course, the pro shop, Doreen, Brett and the grounds staff for their support

18.01.2022 A very big thank you to the Dad’s Army team who have undertaken the difficult task of improving the views from the clubhouse by removing many non-native plants below the practice putting green The team spend around three hours every Monday morning helping with gardening and course maintenance followed by a drink or two in the clubhouse. 17.01.2022 Yesterday's Stableford event was very generously sponsored by Joy Travel Managers of Narrabeen and Steve & Linda Mills, with a travel luggage set on offer for our winners. Congratulations to the overall winner Tony Murphy who achieved an outstanding score of 47 points! Equally impressive was our ladies winner Sylvie Manning with 41 points! It was fabulous to see so many of our members and social players join us back in the clubhouse for a drink, our Saturday raffle and the presentation. See you all next week!

17.01.2022 On Sunday, over 30 of our junior golfers converged on the 1st tee to compete in our inaugural NTP Shootout. After three preliminary rounds, then quarter finals, our four finalists were Thomas Livingstone, Hamish Smith, Harry Deitz and seven year old, Edrea Chiang. In the end, a bare footed Harry took out the major prize, narrowly nudging out Hamish. Harry’s low, punched drivers, worked fantastically in the strong cross wind.... All the kids had heaps of fun, with the bbq and lolly bags big winners. Thanks to all the boys and girls for taking part, and to the parents and siblings for your great help. A big thank you must also go to our amazing Junior Coordinator Michael ‘Taz’ Pollack for organizing and running the day and for his ongoing commitment and support of our junior membership group which has grown significantly over recent months. A special thanks to Stevie Carter on his generous donation of a $100 gift card to the junior program. The card is now firmly in Harry’s possession.

16.01.2022 Congratulations to the 2021 Bill Dombkins winners - Sally McBride & David Stickland who won on the 18th 1 up to take out this honourboard event. With Runners Up Ruth & Phil McBride. Great golf from all with an amazing 2nd shot on the 18th from Dave to set up the win. Congratulations all on a great match played in great spirit ... Finally thanks to Bill Dombkins who was a WW1 veteran - apt that the final was on Anzac Day

16.01.2022 We were very excited to host a Ladies invitational event in conjunction with the Northbridge Cup on Saturday. There was some fabulous golf played despite the difficult windy conditions. The joint winners were Grace Kim from Avondale and Belinda Ji from Concord. A new Ladies Course Record of 66 (2 over par) was set!! Congratulations ladies!

14.01.2022 The final round of the 2020 Encourage Shield was played last Sunday. Our two teams were split across Sydney, with our Red team at Bayview and the Blue team at Muirfield. The Red team found it hard going, defeated by a much older and experienced Cromer team 5.5 to .5. Despite the loss, it was great to witness the fighting comeback from Benjamin Chao in winning the final two holes to secure a tie. Outstanding Benjamin! The Blue team (pictured), featuring in a very hotly conte...sted division, secured a 3 all tie with Stonecutter’s Ridge. But in a heartbreaking scenario, the team failed to top the division by a mere .5 of a point! Unbelievable. Congratulations to all the boys and Anika who so graciously represented Northbridge in 2020. A big shout out to our undefeated players for the year - Blue Team - Jamie Lowe (5 wins from 5 matches), and Red Team - Anika Nayani, Liam Morrison and Benjamin Chao. We’ll be back bigger and stronger in 2021.

14.01.2022 Our two Encourage Shield teams battled the rain and wind on Sunday, with both teams recording wins. Our Blue Team defeated Pennant Hills 3.5 to 2.5 out at Stonecutter’s Ridge, leaving them as the only undefeated team in their division. Winners for the day were Harry, Zach and Jamie, whilst Charlie grabbed an important tie. The Red team recorded their first win of the season in defeating Bayview 4 to 2 at a wet and soggy Balgowlah. Winners were Ayaan, Anika, Benjamin (on debut!) and Ishan. We are all proud of the way you fought on with your matches in such horrendous conditions.

13.01.2022 It was a busy Saturday at the club last weekend with the Life Members’ Trophy and the Final of the Noel Weir Singles Knockout being held. The Life Members’ Trophy was sponsored by our fabulous life member and club handicapper John ‘Firk’ Firkin. The trophy was won by Will Margetts with a score of 40 points. Congratulations Will! The final of the Singles Knockout was taken out by Brian Bolton against Greg La Peyre. A huge congratulations to you both!

12.01.2022 The Annual Christmas Golf Day was held on another beautiful sunny Summer's day. Everyone got in to the spirit of Christmas and we had some great outfits this year, seems Lowes is doing well with Christmas shirt sales this year. Congratulations to all the winners, most notably our LEGEND - Greg La Peyre. Overall stableford winner - Di Simpson - 41 points & male stableford winner Peter Banbury with 38 points. SHOT OF THE DAY - went to Hugh Brinckman who off the 1st had his ball land in the Halfway house, bounce around a few times & broke the sandwich toaster! Luckily, Brett was unharmed.

10.01.2022 It was another big win for Daniel Lewis who took out the Northbridge Cup in some difficult conditions yesterday. Congratulations Daniel! Winner of the Silver Plate, and best nett score with 61 was none other than our sponsor of the day Lindsay Domingue. 09.01.2022 2020 Champions! Saturday saw 4 more Matchplay finals. A Reserve - won my new comer Charlie Cox who defeated our Senior Champion - Ian Hannam. Minors went to another new face - Peter McDonald who defeated Brian Bolton. C Grade - Tony Lewis defeated Ryan Haskard - the battle of the rugby boys.... ...and last but no means least Claire Mallinson came from being 2 down on the 15th to win the last 3 holes to defeat defending champion Pauline Beckton for the Ladies Weekend Championship. Well done everyone on some great matches, great golf and all played in great spirit. Only one more club championship event left with Ladies Major & Minor finals to be decided this Wednesday.

08.01.2022 A busy weekend at the club with Oktoberfest dinner on Friday night followed by our annual Oktoberfest Golf Day. Conditions weren't ideal but the days sponsor Chris Cooper managed 18 holes in those Lederhosen! 07.01.2022 A fun time was had by 64 of our fabulous lady members at the annual Girls on Tour event This year the event was held at the Crown Plaza in the Hunter Valley from the 3rd to 5th May with golf at the Hunter Valley Golf Course on the Monday and Tuesday, and Cypress Lakes on the Wednesday. The dress up theme was ‘Dancing Queens’

Daniel Lewis and Barry Smith took out the Major event! The runners up were Phil Skurrie and Patrick Giles-Jones. Our Minor Champions were Jay Wynter and Lindsay Domingue and runners up Phil Caitlin and Claude Davidson ... Congratulations to our Major and Minor Foursome winners for 2020!

02.01.2022 Christmas Golf Day - Sunday 6th December 2020 - 7:30am Shotgun start followed by lunch - $55 per head. Members and Guests welcome for a Medley (Men & Women) Stableford event. We have NTP prizes of $25 vouchers for every Par 3 (9 of them!) AND Longest drive, straightest drive, best dressed, Quiz & much more.
