23.01.2022 Hypnobirthing is in the media again after Kate Middleton revealed she enjoyed her labours by using hypnobirthing. Check out our amazing Hypnobirthing Australia director Melissa Spilsted on the Today show this morning, talking about our program and the benefits for expecting couples!! https://youtu.be/qtwjXkShGjQ

23.01.2022 This is me 6 years ago today with my hypnobub. I cant believe my baby boy is 6! After an emergency caesarean with my first born, I was soooo determined that with my second baby I was going to be educated, informed and not totally overwhelmed and traumatised this time around. I even trained to become a Hypnobirthing Australia practitioner BEFORE I got pregnant! Why? Because I knew that it was exactly what I needed to prepare for birth, as it was exactly what I didnt have the... first time around. AND I wanted to be able to share it with other women, not only first time mums but mums who had not had a great experience the first time round. So did it work??? Yes, I had a successful VBAC and I didnt even feel the need for pain relief as I managed alone with the hypnobirthing techniques and support from my birth team. And my labour was around 15 hours long! Im here if you want to know how this amazing way of preparing for birth can help you, just DM me. See more

23.01.2022 Wishing all the mums a Happy Mothers Day!!!

22.01.2022 Latest graduates of the Positive Birth program. All ready for birth! Common themes when couples start the course are anxiety, fear of birth and the unknown, fear of pain in childbirth. I love the transition that couples make when they finish where they are filled with confidence and excitement and the fear they had is gone. If this is how YOU would like to feel about birth, DM me to find out hypnobirthing can help you

12.01.2022 Quite commonly there are clients who think hypnosis in hypnobirthing means me waving something in front of them trying to hypnotise them. In class this picture actually represents what hypnosis looks like. A state of deep relaxation. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, so it goes to show the power of the mind-body connection. The great thing about hypnobirthing is that self hypnosis is a tool that we teach, so mums can be as deeply relaxed in labour as this picture. Have you used hypnobirthing before? Let me know in the comments below

03.01.2022 Suicide is the leading cause of maternal death in Australia during pregnancy and the 12 months following birth. One in 10 women suffer with a depressive illness in the antenatal period, one in seven in the postnatal period, and anxiety is about one in five women across both antenatal and postnatal period. Yet QLD only has one Public Mother and Baby unit available, at GCUH with 4 beds. A place where women can receive mental health care and not be separated from their babies. Please sign this petition to get mother and baby units in every public hospital in QLD.

02.01.2022 It all starts with preparation. You wouldnt turn up to run a marathon without any training or preparation beforehand? Then why wouldnt birth need the same preparation? In order to prepare for a positive birth, we educate ourselves to find out what to expect during labour and birth, about interventions, birth preferences, how we are able to make informed decisions, and how fear can affect your birth. It also involves finding tools and techniques we can use such as breathing, relaxation, self-hypnosis and visualisation techniques, in order to manage the intensity of labour and birth. Our Positive Birth program will cover all of this and sooo much more. Let me help you get started on your positive birth journey. I only have 2 more spots available for my July class. DM to book or for more info Sam

01.01.2022 A few words from one of the dads to be who attended our group Hypnobirthing class. The information that is shared in class and the birth videos we show are actually life changing. All the birth videos in class are of parents who have actually completed the Hypnobirthing Australia program and have been kind enough to share. I have even shared the birth video of my son, as it shows hypnobirthing and a VBAC. This program will change your view of birth. It doesnt have to be what we see in movies with mum screaming, partner is clueless of how to help, the bright clinical hospital room. You and your partner can be an awesome birth team together. One where you are educated, informed and your birth can be a positive and empowering experience.
