05.01.2022 Below is a message from our club president regarding COVID-19 and our club's response. ---- Hi Everyone... Senior training sessions have already started, the first round of the senior competition will be commencing on the weekend starting 27 March 2020. For now, the Hockey ACT competition and our training schedule will be business as usual as we would be under the recommended limit of 500 people in attendance in any mass gathering. Clearly the coronavirus situation is fluid and our advice to you may change. Doubtless there will be challenges for us all in in implementing the advice from medical experts and Hockey Australia regarding being additional hygiene measures as well as for all our players to be disciplined and adopt self isolation if they are feel any cold or flu-like symptoms - better to be safe than sorry. As a Club we ask you to be aware of the advice from medical experts, HA and HACT: - Cover nose and mouth with tissue or flexed elbow when coughing or sneezing. - Keep a 1.5m distance from anyone coughing or sneezing. - Wash hands with soap and water and dry with paper towel before and after games and training. - Disposable gloves to be used if attending to players with injuries. - No handshaking before and after games - elbows, toe or stick taps seem to have gained a following. - Make sure you know your own water bottle - label it - no sharing. - Don’t share half time lollies or fruit. - Wash your mouthguard, then wash your hands. If there are any further things we have to do to adopt the right social distancing policy for our health and safety we will let you know. Keep an eye out for updated messages from the Club, Hockey ACT etc on social media or the website https://hockeyact.org.au/ Other matters that need to be attended to include making sure you are registered on Revolutionise so we can keep you up to date with what is happening. https://www.revolutionise.com.au/nce/registration Stay safe.
