19.01.2022 Osteopathic tool spotlight: The scoliometer This scoliometer is used to measure the degree of rotation of a scoliosis curve. Most people don't realise a scoliosis is 3 dimensional, not the traditional s-shape curve we see in all the pictures. We use this tool to measure and monitor the degree and progression of a curve. A reading can be as low as 1 to 3 to as high as 8 and beyond. As a practitioner we start getting concerned with a reading of 4-5 but it depends on th...e whole clinical picture.
