23.01.2022 Work is progressing nicely on the construction of the fishway at the Cohuna Weir on Gunbower Creek. The fishway is about 40% complete and we’re now heading into really important stage.... The creek is being lowered both upstream and downstream of the Cohuna Weir during the irrigation season shutdown to allow us to do some works at creek level. Once irrigation season begins, flows will recommence in the creek just prior to 15 August irrigation start date. The fishway will allow fish, including the Vulnerable Murray cod which are breeding in Gunbower Creek, to safely move downstream into the Murray River, and to move upstream and recolonise sections within the upper reaches of the creek.
