21.01.2022 Poor sore nose! Some problems can come on so suddenly. Yesterday morning this was a normal nose, this morning it’s swollen, ulcerated and sore. What a quick change. We have done a biopsy to try to get to the bottom of this big problem. Hopefully we can then heal him in no time

21.01.2022 Grade 4 dental disease is irreversible. The only option to prevent ongoing pain and infection is removing these teeth. This is a very painful way to live life. But dogs are so brave we often only smell this disease, they don’t stop eating even though it hurts.

21.01.2022 After several days of not eating due to a sore bum, this cat is right back on track and loving her dinner

21.01.2022 We see some food-obsessed pets. This very overweight blue tongues lizard is a pet. His owners have to have a permit to keep him. He is now on a diet. You can’t keep Aussie natives without a permit. This is so they are not stolen from their habitat or kept in unsafe conditions.

20.01.2022 Adorable new baby born this morning. A 37kg bull calf.

19.01.2022 Sarah gives the best cuddles, just ask Gemma

19.01.2022 Every morning this week wires volunteers have brought in female echidnas who have been hit by cars when they have been looking for a lover. Hot spots seem to be Coolamon Scenic Drive, Midgen Flat Road, and Broken Head Road. Please keep an eye out and slow down at night when these ladies are on the prowl. Help save our wildlife!

19.01.2022 Expectant faces and very cute tongues. These to frequent fliers like a visit because of the treats and pats. We like the visits because they are so loving and adorable!

17.01.2022 We have seen a lot of cute puppies lately. COVID certainly has some suprisingly cute outcomes

13.01.2022 Harvest mites from a cats ear. They look like orange patches in the ears but under the microscope this is what we see

12.01.2022 A horse shoe micro at. Isn’t it exquisite! Australian microbats form an essential part of our ecosystem by controlling insect populations and participating in pollination.

10.01.2022 Identification tags for cattle are great for traceability but not so great if you get them caught and rip your ear. This little baby has had his ear repaired after just such a misadventure. Ears are highly sensitive so we also gave him some pain relief for comfort. Don’t forget pain management matters for livestock too.

10.01.2022 We are closed today while the clinic grows. See you tomorrow

09.01.2022 A lipoma, is a common benign fatty tumour. These usually occur in older dogs. They can stay small or grow to the size of a grapefruit. Regular monitoring of these lumps is recommended to make sure they do not change type or cause discomfort or restricted movement

08.01.2022 Dr Lauren delivered her namesake yesterday. She was a big girl at 37kg. I bet Dr Lauren’s mum is pleased she did it deliver such a big baby!

05.01.2022 All these tiny blue rods are bacteria. This is a nasty ear infection. Rod bacteria are often painful, and can be hard to tackle. This ear infection got a culture and sensitivity performed by the pathology laboratory so we could get the exact antibiotics it is susceptible to.

05.01.2022 Something a bit different. Dr Lauren pulled a huge grass seed out of this poor puppies nose. It was causing not stop sneezing. Objects stuck in the nose can be very hard to diagnose. We were picking with this sharpei that we had big nostrils to look down. If the seed had been further back we would have needed to use our CT Scanner to find it.

01.01.2022 We see a lot of poultry but very rarely are the so keen to check out the camera as this intrigued duck
