05.01.2022 Hey gardeners. Because someone asked, here is my kombucha recipe... #kombucha #kombucharecipe I use a 3 litre jar. 1/3 cup sugar per litre dissolved in boiled water with... 2 tea bags per litre. I currently use matcha green tea but black tea has worked well for me as well. Cool water to room temperature. Grab scobie that should have been stored in fridge in a small amount of a previous kombucha mix or be immediately peeled from its mother scobie. Pop scobie in large jar Add the cooled tea sugar mix Cover with calico cloth and tie/rubber band. Place in warmish spot in house but not direct sun for 5-10 days until it tastes right- the point sugar is fermented out, but it hasn’t turned to vinegar. Number of days varies with temperature and maturity of scobie. Drinkable at this point or bottle to create fizz. Pour into sterile bottles with air tight lids or stoppers. Leave 1-2 inches at top to prevent exploding bottles. Optional - add a small amount of fruit at this point or ginger or whatever. Store at room temperature for 2-5 days until fizz has developed. Refrigerate. Enjoy. Keeps for as long as needed in fridge. Kent.

02.01.2022 Community Composting Update: To all our fabulous community members who have been donating their kitchen scraps to our community composting program: Thank you. Unfortunately due to a rat infestation we are putting the program on hold for a period. Please refer to https://sharewaste.com for other composting collection sites.
