11.01.2022 Heather Hesterman talks of encouraging people to see plants. Her exhibition ‘Garden’ at the Counihan Gallery till March 21. People look around and they don’t see plants or they just see them as part of the background, Hesterman says. They don’t think of plants as living organisms. But we are totally reliant on them and their vitality for food, housing, medicine, everything.

04.01.2022 Many thanks to the 23 volunteers who helped on Clean Up Australia Day at Northcote Station. Working for 2 hours, with many new volunteers: new neighbours, local Darebin Greens and contacts through the CUAD web page. Our 5th Clean Up Aust Day at the station. Some of the tasks managed: * weeding and mulching of the long line of grasses on Hartington St *replanting gaps in the new garden on Hartington *massive litter collection... *cleaning gutters in the underpass and using the contents as mulch *finalising work on the newer Herbert St garden south of the station *continuing maintenance on the 'big triangle' on Herbert St *removing grafitti on the station bench See more
