25.01.2022 NHW is so proud to have led the LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Practice Conference 2021. It was the first event of its kind in Northeast Victoria and a great success with more than 250 people from over 100 organisations registering for the online events held over the past four days. Getting Tested Anyone who is unwell with any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, should get tested immediately and stay at home until you receive the result. Do not go about your normal day-to-day activities such as work or going out in the community. Please do the right thing and do not place your family members, friends and the broader community at risk. The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence is a community-based education and awareness initiative about Violence Against Women, commencing 25 November and concluding 10 December. We all have a role to play in preventing violence in our community. During the 16 Days of Activism, individuals, organisations and workplaces are being asked to participate in our Walk Against Family Violence.... The Rural City of Wangaratta, Women's Health Goulburn North East and Northeast Health Wangaratta have joined with thousands of organisations around the world calling for an end to violence against women. Although we can't walk together, we can still help raise awareness of family violence in our community by participating in a walk form home event. 07.01.2022 A Circuit Breaker lockdown has been prescribed across all of Victoria to contain any broader COVID-19 variant outbreak. The following Visitor Restrictions will in place from 11:59pm Friday 12th February to 11:59pm Wednesday 17th February No visitors are permitted into NHW health care settings with... allowances made for pregnancy, birthing and maternity wards, end of life and other essential care and support, parents of children, and support person/s for patients in emergency departments. Non-essential contractors are restricted from entry. As with previous Stage 4 restrictions, where visitors are allowed to enter the premises there will be limitations on the time spent within the service. No visitors are permitted into Illoura Residential Aged Care with allowances for end-of-life reasons. We understand that these restriction may be inconvenient. 05.01.2022 LGBTQIA+ WALLET CARD At NHW, we are working towards inclusive practice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) patients, carers, visitors and staff. As part of this process, the Rainbow Tick project team have developed a new ‘wallet card’ resource of local and state-based LGBTQIA+ services.... The card has been designed as an easy to carry resource for contact details of local community groups, family violence services, sexual health clinics, youth services, Victoria Police liaison officers and more. Over 4,000 cards will be distributed across Beechworth, Mansfield, Broadford, Shepparton, Benalla and Wangaratta.
