14.01.2022 NBBFC Match Report NBBFC vs Nambucca Lions 29/08/2020 Nambucca 10.9.69 NBBFC 5.0.30... Great week leading in with training numbers growing and the strongest squad yet to pick from. The side was a healthy selection of youth and senior leaders. Nambucca got an early jump with a strong game plan and good excecution; but after some adjustment with structure and key positions we held our own for periods of the first half, repeat entries saw Nambucca build scoreboard pressure going into half time. The second half was greatly improved by the blues; our ball movement, intensity and team defence saw the momentum seesaw between both sides. The blues managed back back to back goals and had Nambucca playing defensively throughout this period. Lead by Sammy Burge and Jeremy Macpherson, the back line battled hard and executed at a high level in order to repel the Nambucca forwards despite the majority of the game being played in their half. Declan Philip and Jade Vidler adjusted well and worked hard to complement our strong back 6. Preston Oak lead the midfield group in both attack and defence; performing a lock down role on key Nambucca mids and working extremely hard all day. Daniel John work tirelessly right across the ground, providing composure and contested ball wins. Zaine Loberg rucked strongly to give our midfielders first option and structured up well behind the play. The forward line made the most of their opportunities with the work rate and leadership of Mitchell Huthnance and Marcus Davey creating value all day. The continual improvement of Harry Gregorovic and Finn Lory is exciting to watch.
