25.01.2022 One of the highlights of a NBN breakfast meeting are the guest speakers who come in from time to time. This morning we had the pleasure of listening to Julie Height who is a senior associate in Tindall Gask Bentleys Commercial Law section. It's always fun listening to lawyers as they have such juicy stories!

24.01.2022 Rex Wallace of The Ink Shop and Mawson Lakes spoke this morning on the topic of the types of printer inks and cartridges. Normally you wouldn't give this topic too much thought, but Rex gave an excellent and very educational presentation, and gave the group a lot of food for thought that we can use when selecting printers and inks. As usual, the Manor put on a great breakfast, and all members had a great time.

23.01.2022 Back this morning after a week off for the Queens Birthday public holiday. We had a great breakfast served by the wonderful staff at the Manor Hotel Gepps Cross. John Judd of Codeboss was our speaker this morning. He gave a talk about the Internet based world of the Cloud and Software As A Service, and the options available to business.

Bill gave a talk this morning on the business of signs and revealed some of his work around town, as well as showing us a few pictures from his trip to the US. 17.01.2022 This morning we all got together at the Manor Hotel for breakfast and a talk by Darren Gepp of Hire a Hubby at Golden Grove. Darren spoke about how he got started as an apprentice plumber and gasfitter and his experiences developing the skills he now uses in running his business.

17.01.2022 This morning marked the end of the chairmanship of Ross Deans who hands the reigns over to Mal Byrne. Ross has been chairman of NBN for the last couple of years and we all thank him for the work he has put in to the group. Ross also gave a talk about the world of Mortgage Broking for his business Elite Loans (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Elite-Loans/144485312286819) and shared his experiences in that industry.

17.01.2022 At breakfast this morning Chris Luck from RI Advice at Holden Hill spoke about his early years in business and how he has got to where he is now. Chris also gave the group some valuable advice on customer service and how important it is. It's good to have Luck on our side at the NBN.

16.01.2022 Did you know that referals through word of mouth or business networking are more effective at bringing in quality leads and sales than any other form of advertising? How are you finding new customers?

12.01.2022 We are fortunate at NBN to have a group of members with a wide range of experiences. This morning Derek Brooks from Derek J. Brooks CPA gave a presentation on two important financial topics for business, Fringe Benefits Tax and Negative Gearing. It's clear how important it is to have someone like Derek on your side when dealing with these important tax issues.

10.01.2022 Ken Modistach of FD Computers and vice chair of NBN gave a presentation this morning, detailing his background in the technical service industry and his start as an apprentice with Radio Rentals. The computer industry has changed a lot over the years, and Ken provides many small businesses the tech support and advice they need to keep their computer systems functioning.

09.01.2022 This morning, the Northern Business Networks were fortunate to have a special guest speaker, Christina Angus from Guide Dogs Association. Christina gave a truely inspiring presentation on her background and how she rose to the challenge and tackled both the Kokoda Track and the Dolomite Mountains in Italy. As always, it was a great breakfast with good company.
