19.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW would like to provide our Centres and Members with an update in relation to Championship (Zone/Region/State) events for the 2020/2021 seaso...n. The Covid-19 Pandemic will have an impact on how we deliver our championship events this season. The board is committed to delivering quality events that keep our members safe. The staff and championships committee have been considering a number of options to achieve this. Whilst we currently do not have the final details we would like to share some of the details with you all: The traditional Zone and Region Championships will not take place this season. A number of State Qualifying meets will be held in the early part of 2021, most likely February. A State Championship Event will be held in March. The full details of the above will be announced in the coming weeks.

15.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 State Relay Championships, scheduled to be held in November. This decision has not been... made lightly, but it is in line with the current NSW Government and NSW Department of Health restrictions regarding COVID-19. Little Athletics NSW believes that centres and members will appreciate the early notice of this cancellation. Little Athletics NSW will continue to provide updates about the impacts of COVID-19 and the 2020/21 season. Little Athletics NSW’s main priority is assisting our centres in any way possible to get up and running for the 2020/2021 season and provide the best possible Little Athletics experience under these difficult circumstances To read the full statement please click here: https://bit.ly/2XVYuUq

13.01.2022 ZONE COORDINATOR - Position Vacant The Northern Rivers Zone is seeking a Zone Coordinator for the 2020/21 and the 2021/22 Seasons (2 year role) It is really important that we have a coordinator that is based in the Northern Rivers Zone area. This allows the coordinator to be close to centres and be in touch with what is needed and wanted in the NR Zone.... Please consider this role or tell someone you know who would be great at it. Help & Guidance will be offered by LANSW and they will assist you in whatever area you need. Please contact LANSW for more info about the role.

11.01.2022 Closes tonight!

10.01.2022 All Weather (Synthetic) Track for the Northern Rivers (and very close for Mid North Coast too). We need this in our area - please share with all your groups. This will not only benefit athletics, but the wider sporting community. Please go to the Coffs Council page and have your say. We need as many submissions as possible.... # 1 preferred site - BBO (Bruce Barnier Oval - Coffs Sports Precinct). many reasons - better location, sports hub, other venues, warm up area, but the main aim is to get the track as soon as we can (York Street is at least 10-15 years away) Coffs Coast Regional Athletics Centre - The council has put the proposal for a Regional Athletics Centre (Synthetic) to Public Exhibition. We need as an athletics community to log in and submit a submission so we can finally get a permanent home. While we will take anywhere (just want a track) we believe the preferred option is next to the hockey fields at Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park (CCS&LP). York St is the other option and they claim we can have it straight away but talking to the Football club that uses it - That is not true. It was also reported in the local paper that while the council report is leaning towards York St, most councilors believe it is the wrong place and it should be at CCS&LP We need to get as many people to submit a submission as possible, if parents and athletes present and pass could log on and have their say we will be one step closer. All you need to go to this site and have your say - [Council’s Have Your Say website](https://haveyoursay.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/regionalathleti) Please get your friends and family to also support us. Submissions close of Friday 23rd October. Please help the Northern Rivers get the track we deserve. We deserve more facilities for Regional NSW. 09.01.2022 This is how we set up long jump for the Under 6s at Little Athletics last night. No measuring or recording. Two jumping at once. Each child got about 15 jumps o...ff a short run rather than the traditional 3 had we been measuring. Kids and parents loved it. We need to think outside the competition model. See more
