15.01.2022 This is Grant Page. He likes to win trophies and he has been quite good at it over the years, regularly cleaning up at the AS Winter Season Presentations. Unf...ortunately for Grant, the COVID shortened season has meant that there won’t be any of the regular awards presented this year. However, trophies for the named events will still be awarded and will be presented to winners after the Froggy Wise Handicaps at Claremont this Saturday, along with a BBQ. For those wondering about the AS T&F Awards for 2019/20, these will be presented after Come & Try Day on 3 October.

12.01.2022 A short montage of pics from todays Snug Cross Country.
10.01.2022 A morning round this week saw placings in some races determined by 100ths of a second. Haney Mokonen was in a pack of 4 in the 3000m before Nathan Morey (OVA) got the break (8.55) leaving 3 to fight it out into the straight, with Haney getting second by .04 from Kwa (SB)and Covington(SB) to record a PB of 8.57.13. Similarly in the women’s 3000m, Jessica Smith held onto 3rd place by .03 from a fast finishing Mikayla Ireland. Both athletes scored PB’s with Jess also improving o...n her U14 club record (10.37.38) Brandon Clark featured throughout the programme. In preparation for the upcoming carnival series he ran 11.99 and 23.84 to get 3rd in both of the short sprints. More success was seen in the throwing events with wins recorded in the Discus and Shotput and a 3rd in the Javelin. The 800m saw an exciting men’s race with Dylan Burnett running strongly to get second in PB time of 2.03.40. Avalon Forbes who is getting accustomed to front running ran 2.20.76 to win the women’s. Our sole representative in the 3000m walk David Moore took the win whilst gaining some points for the club. Despite a seemingly strong showing from the club we fell back in the pointscore this week, but Paul Henkel still topped the individual pointscore in the men’s and got a third in the shotput. Emma Henkel had an extremely busy day on the track and in the field coming 3rd in the women’s point score. Next week’s interclub returns to the usual afternoon time slot.
