24.01.2022 Two welterweights, that have both taken a less than traditional path to the ring, collide at The Paddo Punch-On 4. St. John The Baptist Black, owner of arguably the best moniker in boxing, takes on George Hulme in a South Africa versus England welterweight clash. St.John is trained by Ayo Odeyale at Training Grounds in Crows Nest and will be one of four fighters from the gym featuring on the card. Originally from Johannesburg, the North Shore local competed in MMA, Muay Th...ai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu before embracing the sweet science. Having committed himself to the sport, Mr.Black is eager to compete as often as possible this season. Hulme hails from Yorkshire in the north of England and is coached by Jessie Sanchez at Legends. The gym in Kensington is fast becoming a haven for combat athletes across all codes, with fighters competing and succeeding in multiple disciplines. 03.01.2022 Two Sydney Contender alumni clash in an exciting local derby, when No Quarter product Brennan Petersen takes on Chloe Chapman from Kegends Gym in a womens elite 75kg bout. Petersen is trained by Anton Shalom in Alexandria and finally made her amateur debut last May, after years of diligently honing her craft. Brennans maiden effort led to a Fight of the Night performance and she has been waiting patiently for a suitable opponent ever since. Chapman is trained by Jesse San...chez in Kensington and fought for the first time last November. The twenty-one year old Personal Trainer is a fitness fanatic and you can expect her to push the pace when these two ladies lock horns. Thitiruj Sakulthaeo, known by all and sundry as Lucky, takes on Kishor Sharma at the Paddo Punch-On 4, in a bout that has the potential to be Fight of The Night. Lucky is trained by Ayo Odeyale at Training Grounds and will be representing the club for the second time after joining in January. Hailing from Chang-Mai in... Thailand, the 38 year old postal worker is studying logistics at TAFE and combines a hectic work-study-training schedule, whilst being a devoted husband and owner of two dogs. No matter how busy the man may be, he always wears a smile and has already become an integral part of the boxing team in Crows Nest. Sharma, 25, has hit a rich vein of form recently with multiple wins on the spin. The Nepalese metronome has benefitted from his homelands higher altitude and as such is able to maintain a tempo that few are able to match. Kishor is coached by Ronny Sinclair at Focus Boxing, who speaks incredibly highly of his quiet and respectful student. When Sharma is not in the gym or on the track, he supports himself as an Uber Eats driver, working hard to fulfil all of his aspirations. Cosgrove, 30, is trained by Zach Vickers in Darlinghurst and will is one of the more likeable Real Estate Agents youll come across. On Friday 20th March he fighting for more than just pride. In 2013 a close friend, David Wolfy Wolf, died of brain cancer at the tender... age of 23. Inspired to fight in his memory and the foundation named after him, Patrick is stepping in the ring to raise funds to find a cure for brain cancer. A cancer that kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other. Damon Scocco, 24, is a member of Anthony Redwards massive stable of amateurs and will be stepping into the ring for the second time. The Suburu-loving southpaw works in a lolly factory and has been mixing it up with elite company in sparring for sometime. He would like nothing more than to put his sweet hands on a Real Estate Agent.
