19.01.2022 Work on the Plan has started already, and is expected to be completed by June 2014. The Plan will build on existing Council policies and plans such as the City of Darwin Strategic Plan 2012. It will also draw upon what we know about community wellbeing and what affects it. But most importantly, the Community Wellbeing Plan will be built around what is important to the people of Darwin. Check it out and have YOUR say!! Oh and Congrats DCC!!

13.01.2022 Great news !! This announcement is great news. It indicates that the Federal Government is taking psychosocial disability very seriously, in the context of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Frank Quinlan, CEO of the MHCA said.

12.01.2022 The roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme should be focussed on getting it right, not getting it quickly says CEO of the Mental Health Council of Australia Frank Quinlan following his appearance this morning on the Sky News Saturday Agenda program. It is a profound understatement to say that many people living with disability are anxious for change, but we should follow the old adage ‘make haste slowly, Frank Quinlan said.

11.01.2022 Did you know NDIS have a face book page? Good up to date info and opportunity for discussion/ webinars etc.

09.01.2022 Our friends at Mental Health Council of Australia are pleased to announce a partnership with Screentime Australia, to help promote the World Mental Health Day campaign in 2014. Chris Wagner (MHCA), Director of Communications, has been working with Screentime on a TV documentary starring comedian Felicity Ward to be screened on ABC 2 in October. Filming has begun, and we are encouraging everyone to go to 1010.org.au and make a mental health promise. The more promises they get, the more challenges Felicity will do, while she interviews comedians about mental health and wellbeing. We hope this means World Mental Health Day will receive more attention in the mainstream media this year.
