25.01.2022 UPDATE COVID-19 & SEASON 2020 Hi Members, After much careful consideration, long discussions and seeking of external advice NIHA is very sad to announce... that training and playing ice hockey can no longer meet the requirements of the federal government for control of the virus currently plaguing our community. We must in the interests of protecting our members, community, facilities and association suspend all NIHA activities as of 18:00hrs Saturday 21st March 2020. We will resume once IHWA give us notice of the all clear. After completion of three weeks of pre-season training, we have accumulated ice costs of nearly $10k and we need you to contact your team managers to find out what you owe in ice fees for this years pre-season trainings and how to pay them. I am sure you can imagine the coming months will be an extremely difficult time for XIA and we must all do our part to ensure we pay what we owe promptly so we can ensure we have supported XIA to the best of our abilities. While we cannot prevent you from using the rink privately for pick-up games or self-organised trainings please be VERY aware that you will NOT be covered by your IHWA insurance for any non-sanctioned ice hockey run outside of IHWA and its affiliated clubs like NIHA. NIHA & XIA thank you for your support and we are very eager to get started as soon as possible so watch this space for future updates. In the meantime, if you have any queries please contact. 04.01.2022 18 March 2020 Dear Members, In discussion with all relevant stakeholders regarding COVID-19, and noting the increased measures recommended by the Federal Govern...ment, Ice Hockey Western Australia has postponed the start of the Winter Inter-Club Season to Friday 8th May. We will review this position against appropriate information by April 20th, and announce further decisions at that time. State Team try-outs and training are also postponed and the way ahead will be determined by that time. Club trainings may continue at the discretion of the respective Clubs and their Members. Members please liaise with your club for local details. The decisions have been made with care, and take into account our contribution to the whole community.
