22.01.2022 Our NBC singers are keeping busy during COVID, with Zoom rehearsals and attending online education events. Hope you're all finding ways to sing! Our two competing quartets - Treble Makers and Sista! - have both recently said farewell to loved quartet members who moved interstate. As Sista! decided to retire from the competition stage, Sharon Stewart has joined Treble Makers as their new baritone! Happy day!! We are all thrilled for Kylie, Ashley, Sharon and Geesje and know this foursome is going to continue our long tradition of quartets to be super proud of! Congratulations Treble Makers!!

We've zoomed and we've zoomed and we've learned lots and sung by ourselves at home. And now we can't wait until we can do this for real!!!!. 15.01.2022 Introducing the Northern Beaches Chorus 2020 Sweet Adeline of the Year... Sharon Cartwright! She was 'virtually' presented with her award at our online AGM. Sharon's been an NBC member since 2008 and got involved in chorus team roles right from the start. Among these roles are quartet singer with Sista! Quartet, our marketing coordinator, team coordinator, Bass section leader, front row and warm-up team member and quartet coordinator. Sharon was a dual member with both with C...ircular Keys Chorus and Endeavour Harmony Chorus for three international chorus contest journeys and this year moved to Queensland where she is now also a member of Vocalescence and Luminous Quartet. From 2012-2017 she served in two roles on the Sweet Adelines Australia Regional Management Team, is a current member of the Regional Education Faculty and has just started her fourth year as a member of the International Board of Directors. She's a model of putting yourself forward to achieve wonderful things for you, your chorus and our great organisation. Congratulations Sharon!

08.01.2022 Once upon a time, not so very long ago... we laughed and sang together on a beautiful beach in Manly. Now we laugh and sing together online! NBC has been singing and bringing joyful music to our community since 1997 and we intend to keep doing that for many years to come. Even though Covid-19 means we're not in our Frenchs Forest rehearsal hall each week, we're learning new skills and new music and staying connected with each other via Zoom. 04.01.2022 What a day! Our first distanced rehearsal after 7 months of only Zoom. Lots of fun and love in the room and a chance to recognise Glad's 20th Sweet Adelines anniversary and Tricia N's KUDOS Award. We also celebrated Krys' "big" birthday and heard Vera's touching tribute to Anay for the Friendship Star! Rain has made it challenging to arrange a COVID-safe rehearsal and we have small group and time limitations for actual singing, but Linda's perseverance won out and it's definitely one for the history book! 03.01.2022 Everyone at NBC is so proud to have contributed to this video and touching story. Sweet Adelines Australia is extremely honoured to let their members know that, after seeing our I Am Woman video shared on social media, Helen Reddy’s family contacted us to request to use this video at Helen's private memorial service. The service was held on October 25, which would have been Helen’s 79th birthday, and our video opened the proceedings. Traci, Helen’s daughter, said that our v...ideo perfectly honoured her mother, her song and demonstrated her reach to women. Traci described the video as "a beautiful, beautiful tribute" and said we could share with all our members how much joy it brought to their family in Helen’s celebration of life. Thank you, Traci, for this honour. We will always have you and your Mum in our hearts.

02.01.2022 Were glowing with excitement after the #abcsydney #singoutsydney event hosted by #wendyharmer and #robbiebuck at the City Recital Hall, Angel Place yesterday! Our performance of This Is Me opened the event and was very well received. We also joined in a 600+ voice mass sing to close the event of Christine Anus song Kulba Yaday (Old Yarns) in the Kalaw Kawaw Ya language of her mothers people, directed by Dr Sarah Penicka Smith who also arranged it. An unforgettable experien...ce for us and one of our Sweet Adelines International sisters from Chicago, Anna Ellingham. Anna sings with Midwest Crossroad Chorus and Melodeers Chorus. Every featured choir was wonderful, we so enjoyed hearing the fabulous range of styles in the greater Sydney community.
