08.01.2022 If you are a new beekeeper looking to purchase some bees or looking to expand the number of hives you currently have, then look no further! We are currently taking pre-orders for package bees to be picked up from the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We are expecting to get them within the next week possibly next few days (dependant on weather conditions). This year's packages have been delayed due to the conditions in NSW. What will I get when I purchase a package of bees? You... will receive a package of gentle Italian bees with a new productive mated 2020 queen in a package to put directly into your hive. You can rest assured that you are purchasing top quality bees from reputed breeders who have been in the industry for decades. We have used and will be using these packages ourselves in our hives. Our feedback from our customers has been fantastic over the past few years. Why purchase a package of bees? Packages are a cheaper alternative to nucleus colonies and are generally available earlier in the season. It is as easy as pouring the bees into your hive (we will provide you with guidance or install them for you in some instances). Package bees are literally a package of bees no frames, brood or other stores. Package bees can be used for any type of hive flow hive, top bar etc. Due to this we recommend feeding them sugar syrup to help them to draw out the comb in the first few weeks. We have feeders available for sale or you can use your own. Frame feeders are only $10 for those who buy a package. Where do I buy hives and equipment? We offer hives and all beekeeping equipment at discounted prices for those who purchase packages through us. We recommend purchasing the equipment prior to the arrival of the bees to ensure the hive is painted and ready upon the arrival of the bees. We are happy to provide guidance and support to our customers to guide them and answer their concerns and queries that will naturally arise during this beautiful journey of keeping bees. The cost of package bees are as follows: 1-9 packages $170, 10-29 packages $165, 30-49 packages $160, 50 packages $155.
